  1. Good morning all, This is probably not quite the right channel for this query, but does anybody out there have any experience with deploying Azure Stack HCI? We've had real problems trying to deploy over the last 13 days, and I'm wondering if anybody else has had issues that they overcame. I'm just having issues collecting logs to send to Microsoft. Edit: screenshot of error now attached Thanks
  2. @anke09 the only dropout issue we had was when the token on the Azure side expired because I had given it a short date
  3. @Fazza thanks for the screenshot, I understand what to look for now. @Davit2005 pretty much every client device we have is on a reservation because that's just the way the people before me set it up. Nothing gets an IP without a reservation, it's a bit complicated but basically I was left a database on the deployment server and a script on the DC. Script looks at deployment database for MAC addresses and then creates reservation and assigns an IP for them.
  4. @Davit2005 That makes sense and is along the lines of what I was thinking but can I just use the other remaining DC for DNS simply because it is a DC and has the DNS role installed or is there something else I need to do? Also, I've never had to change DNS in DHCP. If I were to run ipconfig now on a client device I would get one of the "new" DCs and the one I'm trying to remove as DNS so how do I go about changing this? Thanks, I know these question are probably quite basic.
  5. @Davit2005 thanks, I'm not creating two new DCs though. I've inherited three DCs and I'm trying to remove the 2012 R2 one and leave the other two.
  6. Good morning, I've never had to remove a DC before so thought I would reach out here before I make any terrible mistakes, my primary concern is that I know some things still point to it for secondary DNS. I've got two other DCs in the domain, one is also used for DNS so how do I go about using the second DC for DNS to replace the one I want to remove? If anybody has done this before and has some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks
  7. @Disease I would be very grateful if you could pass on anything you do or learn with the Macs via Intune and I'm happy to share what I have achieved. As I say we are in the same place with buying one Mac and playing around on Intune.
  8. Good afternoon, Hoping an Excel guru will see this and help me, I'm trying to highlight rows based on values\text in cells. Basically, I'm trying to apply a RAG system so to keep the example simple, if A1 equals "High" and A2 equals "Low" can I highlight the row orange? Solutions and better ideas are welcomed equally. Thanks in advance
  9. @Disease I'm also looking at this as part of our Mac refresh for the Music department, I grabbed a test Mac and joined AD easily enough. I'm trying to go down the Intune management route and had some success rolling out the Office apps plus found a great script that maps network shares to the dock but stuff such as Sophos and PaperCut seems trickier so have turned to a trial of Mosyle as @3s-gtech mentions. I'm not sure how Intune or Mosyle will handle Sibelius or Logic yet. Also I am discovering that due to the ports on the Macs these days we will need some docks for peripherals such as mice, keyboards and MIDI keyboards.
  10. @Marci Thanks for the reply, I joined a Power Bi forum and got the answer there which was similar to what you're saying anyway. Essentially I was putting the wrong things on the wrong axis and not labeling the legend.
  11. @Primus I've got e-mails from the VA Approvals team
  12. Good morning, Hoping somebody with some Power Bi knowledge can tell me what I might be doing wrong here, the following example uses a made-up scenario but mirrors what I'm trying to achieve with some real alternative data: I've imported a spreadsheet that was populated via a Microsoft form into PowerBi, one column has dates and one has the answers from the form when people selected either a strawberry or chocolate doughnut. What PowerBi shows me on one axis of the graph it creates is time scales according to the date column (years, months, days), perfect, exactly what I want. On the other axis it shows the 'count' of the strawberry\chocolate doughnut column...so if 20 people selected either doughnut in October the graph shows 20 for October. What I can't work out is how to get the graph to show me that in October, 15 people selected chocolate doughnut and 5 selected strawberry. It's like PowerBi is only capable of counting how many entries there are for a column but not the content of the cells in that column. Hope that kind of makes sense if anybody has any suggestions. Thanks
  13. Good afternoon, Hope I am posting this in the correct forum, I am trying to upload the mobile config file for Sophos Endpoint to Intune but get an error "Must be a well formed XML string". Has anybody seen this before please? Thanks
  14. On the subject of AI, our staff recently took a liking to NotebookLM
  15. Good morning, Does anybody have any advice or guidance around a lockdown procedure that they are willing to share, please? At the moment our primary method of communication in such a scenario would be the NetGenium tannoy system but this has proved unreliable and their support tell me that to make changes we need to run it using IE10 which I can't quite work out how to do without a Win 7 VM. Thanks in advance
  16. @WhiteStar1 I can't take credit for the following because it was my predecessor's work but we have a script that looks for a certain path and if it's not there installs Fusion from a shared location or upgrades it if it is there. Your command looks the same as that line in the script though, happy to share a modified version of the script if you PM me. Thanks
  17. @Brimstone I'm not sure where I'm saying I've never seen a USB-C port, what I'm saying is the devices we connect to the Macs are standard USB at the moment so we will need some adapters. Apologies if there was any misunderstanding in the point I was making but I suppose if we consider USB-C to be the standard I can understand why my concern doesn't make much sense. @DalekSec we once ordered some Anker adapters for our cashless catering tills and they did not work from day one, on the tills or any other device so maybe I was just unlucky there. I got the Office Apps deployment working when I switched it to 'All Devices' rather than a targeted group, the issue was the group showing in Intune but not with the device in it even though the device is in the group in AD so not sure what's happening there.
  18. @VBallantyne Thanks, assigning to all devices worked. The issue I was having with assignment groups is that the group was showing in Intune but not with the device in it...and yes I had added the device to the group in AD
  19. @VBallantyne Silly question but assigning Microsoft 365 apps to all devices like this I assume Intune is intelligent enough to then only target all macOS devices and not also include all of the Windows devices in the directory? Thanks
  20. I managed to get the one new Mac enrolled to Intune and bound to AD but I can't get 365 Apps for MacOS to install via Intune. I set the policy and targeted the group that the device belongs to in AD, I don't get any errors...just nothing on the device or Intune.
  21. @VBallantyne I'm afraid I don't have anything useful to tell you in terms of your problem but your post grabbed my interest because we too have just started looking at how we will manage our Mac refresh and I have purchased one new Mac to manage via Intune. I got it enrolled but didn't do what you have regarding logins with 365 accounts, I just bound the device to AD. The problem I am having is deploying 365 Apps for MacOS, have you any experience of this? Thanks
  22. The next issue I've noticed with the new Mac I've ordered is that it doesn't have any standard USB ports, given that our Music department has a preference for USB mouse\keyboard and USB MIDI keyboard I can only assume I will need a bunch of adapters
  23. @bald_pig this is what we found but adding permissions via 365 to the shared mailbox doesn't create a profile which means adding it in manually and that just created more issues because Outlook saw this as a different profile\account and lost some of the settings\config that the user had already applied like categories etc.
  24. @gwendes happy to share my experiences and problems if you want to PM me
  25. In the end we went with ReadWrite and that worked out well for us but it was just a single student for a limited time so couldn't go wrong really
