Does any of you use parago? Would you recommend this product? Maybe you use different tool that you could recommend to us? I appreciate your advise Thank you M

You tag a room with a QR code, then everything is assigned to that. Take a video of the room for insurance purposes. Nice product and we got discount for using one of their other products. We use this and we are looking at getting rid of it. It isn't flexible enough. For example you can't delete the default statuses of items, we are stuck with "high, medium and low" this is useless to us. 2

Aye, as I mentioned before - you've really gotta look at these systems to see if they can do what you want. There's another one which one of our schools used to use - Flow360. Its more flexible, but also more complicated etc... 1
dry Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Our trust bought into Parago and I've been impressed with it so far. Seems very flexible and their developers do listen to moans & act upon them. For some reason when initially buying Parago we bought their on-site 'auditor' (label sticker) service for 3 days at great expense. Found that half of the asset tags that they'd stuck were wonky/not straight and my OCD went absolutely bananas! Sadly couldn't warrant the time to scrape them off and reapply properly... 1

ITBadger Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 We used to use School Asset Manager but have migrated to a Google Sheet which is as adaptable as we want to make it now. As long as you have the asset stickers to identify your products then you could do the same. Just make sure taht it's backed up and that you can extract the information that you need from it. We also video each room and upload the videos to Google Drive then link to the videos from our Google Sheet. Does everything that we used to use SAM for and is far easier to use. 1

I got sick of our office staff using an Excel spreadsheet and having to fix it every half term. I bought a pack of 1,000 barcoded asset tags with 'PROPERTY OF , ' on them in our school colour from Asset Stickers & Barcode Asset Labels UK Supplier | Label Bar and a barcode scanner from Amazon. I like that SnipeIT integrates with Active Directory, is very flexible with assigning assets to people and/or locations, and that it's hosted on premises. It also means we're not just tracking high value items anymore, I've started adding everything in like monitors, IP phones etc. It also has an auditing function where it wont tick an item off unless you scan the asset tag, I haven't tried it yet but we do this once or twice a year so that'll come in handy too. So far would recommend! @Blue_Cookeh Do you work at my school. This is exactly what I have done lol I looked at asset tiger buy like self hosted solutions so it doesn't just disappear overnight

We find this very useful when out and about.

Would be nice if it had a mobile app but I am just using the site on my phone

Not sure how well the automated script works since I put it on n Ubuntu VM we have dedicated to internal web services. No smartphone app or smartphone barcode integration - you can get SnipeIT to create QR codes for assets that include a link to the asset in SnipeIT though so you might be able to do something clever with that. I'm just walking around with my laptop and a USB barcode scanner at the moment since I'm starting from scratch and making sure all our serial/model numbers etc are correct. DCUK6 Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Just setting up Parago. Had School Asset Manager (Now PS Asset) in my old school for years. From the demo it looks like Parago is more what we wanted. The downside we are having at the minute whilst setting it up is the asset type like chair isnt a text box, its a drop down box so having to go through every asset and change. School asset manager did this for us. Parago can scan current labels so at least i save on the re-stickering time. 1
