Hi.

We're due to tender for some iPads next week but two of our three current DEP resellers are out of favour at the moment and won't be getting further business.

Could you tell me who you use, assuming you recommend them?

Many thanks.

Peter

We've used JTRS and Western Computer in the last 5 years. Would love a pm to name and shame though, as we're just about to tender too......

We use Albion, only had 29 ipads from them (although another 21 soon to go on order) but the pricing and service was good.

Misco.

Misco are on “Credit Hold” with a lot of their distributors and selling off their UK warehouse(s) to try and get their accounts into black, as of 1st August 2017.

They’re one of my current suppliers - but they haven’t processed an order or invoice in 2 months despite several calls, emails and chasers including £9.5k contract renewal that’s now expired past it’s renewal date.

+1 for Albion. Always been best priced for me and good support.

Apple has overhauled its channel approach in education, leaving just 14 UK resellers on the books for the competitive vertical.

CRN understands that the vendor giant between 24 and 26 Apple Solution Experts - Education (ASE) previously, with Softcat, Insight and Misco all apparently missing out.

The 14 remaining ASEs in education are: Academia, MCC, GBM, Trams, Albion, KRCS, Western Computer, Toucan, Jigsaw24, XMA, BT Direct Business, JTRS and for Ireland Wriggle and Compu b.

Shocking news about Misco. They have been my main supplier for over 7 years now. Sad news, especially for the staff!

They've been my main supplier for ten years, with the same account manager throughout (one of the things I liked). Shame, I've had excellent service with warranty and haggling over the years. All the best to their staff.

Don't worry, it's highly likely Misco UK will be saved by PCM meaning sales jobs will be safe. Apparently the PCM head honchos flew in from America to handle it personally.

Shame, I thought VeryPC were going to expand their empire and take it over. ;)

Good to hear the jobs will be safe anyway. :)

Well, it appears that no one is at work this morning. No replies on the phones :(

I would try again a bit later, it could well be that they are having an all staff meeting with regard to their situation.
