7-zip is the de-facto standard - very good it is too. I know there are some decent alternatives too but I haven't looked into them as I was happy enough with it. For most users, the built-in functionality in Windows has been enough.

Most places i go to either have no zipping software other than windows default or zipping is outright banned/has to come through the it dept where we use 7-zip

SRP and Applocker can deal with dirty ZIPs very well!

Personally, I use winrar (mostly because it's what I've always used), although I do like that 7zip will try to open anything.

We don't deploy anything, staff just use windows built in stuff for opening/creating zip files. And if they get some weird .7z or .rar file (not that common) then they come to us.

I do not deploy anything on mass to the users, but I use 7-zip and deploy it to the occasional power user if needed.

+1. I install 7-Zip on my machine but no-one else has ever asked for anything extra to the built-in Windows functions.

Normally to undo i push the zip from top to bottom, and to do up i go from the bottom up

Sometimes I don't have to do this, it decides to go top to bottom by itself!

I've just checked mine, say "YKK" on it. Not sure who the vendor is but I have the same problem as @snagrat it was in the down position.

Same here. The builtin function hasn't failed me yet in the few occasions I need it
