Oddbod Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 And seeming no warning of what appears to be a missile launcher in the middle of the badly-labelled space! You are correct… that is a missile battery… looks like they've been busy… [emoji48] Salisbury plain has quite a few of these confined spaces (if you go looking for them) 1
EliteCommander Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 That appears to be their "Jardin des femmes" range I took a measured chance and did a Google Image search on this, imagine my relief when it correctly identified it as a scarf. I was dreading a NSFW suggestion.
caffrey Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I fitted some speakers today, these are the batteries that came with them for the remote - had to do a double take.. 1
6Foot2 Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 I fitted some speakers today, these are the batteries that came with them for the remote - had to do a double take.. Perhaps you might consider not using those batteries (not sure if you are) There is a lot of talk of these being fake Panasonic batteries, frequently leaking when in use and damaging equipment. caffrey Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 In fairness the remote that they came with was garbage - the volume up and down (to me) are the wrong way round
Arthur Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 A potential source of confusion?... The top notice should actually be removed. http://mythbusters.wikia.com/wiki/Cell_Phone_Destroys_Gas_Station_(Myth) The Myth - Using one's cell phone while pumping gasoline can cause an explosion. Verdict - Busted After singeing Adam's eyebrow in a scale test, the team attempts to ignite a mock filling station. A properly-working cell phone failed to ignite gasoline, even when surrounded by gasoline vapor with the optimum fuel-air mix for ignition. The actual risk comes from an electrostatic discharge between a charged driver and the car, often a result of static electricity buildup from getting into and out of the vehicle. When re-tested in Myths Revisited, the conclusion was validated

Cell Phone Destroys Gas Station (Myth) | Mythbusters Wiki | FANDOM powered by Wikia This is the bad side of our safety culture, no one will stand up and say it's rubbish. Don't get me wrong, safety regulations have been excellent and have saved huge numbers of lives, but when do you ever come across a safety expert who says "Actually that's over cautious" ? 1

Cell Phone Destroys Gas Station (Myth) | Mythbusters Wiki | FANDOM powered by Wikia IIRC there has never been a case of a mobile phone being proved responsible for a fire at a petrol station and the warnings started after one fire in the US was wrongly attributed to a phone. 1
elsiegee40 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 (edited) The top notice should actually be removed. [emoji4] http://mythbusters.wikia.com/wiki/Cell_Phone_Destroys_Gas_Station_(Myth) Daughter worked in a filling station for quite a while. She said the phone ban was more to stop people being distracted while using the pumps. The diesel spills invariably happened when people were trying to text surreptitiously! They weren’t as bad as the ones trying to have a surreptitious cigarette whilst filling up though. She reckoned she we would get at least one a week and have to shut all the pumps off whilst arguing with an idiot. And that was just her shift! Tells self off. Edited October 24, 2018 by elsiegee40 3
