  1. I have had been through 4 Ofsted inspections (and 2 independent inspections) - never spoke to the inspectors directly once!
  2. My thoughts exactly! NSFW?? The teaching staff use far worse here on a regular basis
  3. Well the pencil moustache probably threw them you see! A pencil moustache was the type Clark Gable / Errol Flynn had (you did imply you were over 30).
  4. Aaagh, but are they from South Sudan? And how did you phrase the question in this straw poll?? Were you "strutting" around the office in a straight legged marching sort of way as you asked them? Sorry for being facetious - it is the end of a long week.
  5. Like my parents? Or maybe they associated SS with the boat thing - like SS (Steam Ship) Great Britain. Or maybe they didn't associate it with anything at all - other than my names? Sorry - to clarify - you are no doubt right, some far right groups may register with it - but so may some steam liner enthusiasts! But I cant blame South Sudan choosing SS - it just means South Sudan to them.
  6. My initials are SS - does that make my parents Nazi's? They probably chose SS because for "most" people they don't automatically think 1930's / 40's German elite guard unit.
  7. That is not cheap!
  8. You could hide the drive via the registry - something like this https://skillforge.com/hide-drives-in-windows-explorer-via-registry-setting/
  9. We use the GPO message method - message starts "By logging in to this system you are accepting the terms and conditions of the school AUP"
  10. I started at my current NM role as a lone IT support bod (only managed myself??) but after 3 months of continuous fire fighting and not having time to actually "manage" anything, I basically said - you either get me a technician so that I can manage and improve this network, or I am off! It was too soul destroying leaving at the end of each day knowing that I had improved virtually nothing. I had fixed plenty of issues, but the underlying causes were still there. Thankfully they agreed and I have been in a team of 2 here for 10 years. That too has had its ups and downs, but overall far better. The 2 biggest benefits for me are time (to plan and work on sometimes complex things) and being able to bounce ideas back and forth about problems that I may not have fixed on my own or would have at best taken longer to fix.
  11. 04:23 in the AM!!??
  12. So just to tip me off my self-righteous perch - had first support staff member in this morning who has forgotten their card!
  13. We have started charging for them after the second loss.
