Garacesh Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Ballchinnyan - an alien from Men In Black. Ah, ballchinians, the only decent thing to come out of Men in Black 2.. Some good questions mixed in with a lot of rubbish ones. who is the funniest in the cast? do you play pranks on each other when on set? Brad’s just the king of pranks, he loves it. I have no idea why, but I absolutely love the idea of Bradley Walsh playing pranks on people Thanks for doing this. I loved the latest episode. Spiders terrify me. Do you have any phobias in real life? So, I am really scared of dogs. I am actually scared of quite a lot of things. I don’t like heights, I’m not very good at swimming, I don’t like the dark, I’m scared of spiders. But when it comes to filming with a dog or a spider, I’m like yeah, I can do that because I’m on the job. Hi Mandip! If you really could travel to anyplace, anytime, where would you like to go? I’m going to travel to the beginning of time so I can see what happened. Was it religion or science? How did it all begin? I’d love to go back to the beginning of time, see where it all got started. Spoilers for a future episode, maybe? Although.... Pineapple on pizza: yes or no? Absolutely not. That’s just disgusting - that’s just fruit on top of actual food. I have tried it so I feel like I can commit to this massive statement, but absolutely not. WE RIOT NOW!
rich_tech Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 It's losing my interest now, shes still a good doctor, the writing is still weak and I think just its obviously going in a direction that I feel is a bit too SJW/PC now for me to stomach, which is hard considering its the Beeb which is the supposed bastion of all things PC in the modern age.
mavhc Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Yeah, Doctor Who is pretty PC, they've only had 100% white skinned humans playing The Doctor, whereas we all know IRL doctors are mostly from India. Why are they constantly pandering to the white minority on this planet? This kind of earth based political correctness has no place in our universe.
DalekSec Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 As you may or may not know, i'm a massive Dr Who fan and have been since a kid watching Pertwee on VHS. The thing that annoying me most about Modern Who, isn't the bad writing or lously acting. It's people who watch it and complain that the BBC has an agenda. I couldn't care less if the doctor was a black disabled women or a white able bodied man. Aslong as the Doctor does what the Doctor does. Save people, have the occasional great story and all the references to old Who or pop culture. If you think the BBC has an agenda (which tbf it does but not to the scale people blow it up to) and thats all you complain about Nu Who, do us all a favour and take your moaning else where, maybe go watch TBBF. When the new Doctor came out loads of people asked me OOO what do you think of a WOMAN DOCTOR, i simply replied i don't know, i've never seen her in anything i don't know how good of an actress she is. I don't care that shes female aslong as shes the good old quirky Doctor that i love and so far she is! Love her so far, more of the same please! IMO theres no such thing as over PC, we shouldn't be seeing as them filling a quota just the ability of the actors. 1
mavhc Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Plus they literally have an old white guy as a companion. 50 white companions, about 40 in a row, it's hilarious people think that there's over representation of minorities. The Doctor always stands up for the oppressed against the state, that's the whole point of the show. What have you been watching for the past 55 years?
rich_tech Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I have liked it ever since seeing Colin Baker growing up, I don't think I've enjoyed it as much since the big stories here, the likes of The End of Time and Day of the Doctor, they really upped it a notch I felt in terms of effort, stuff since then has been good(I liked Torchwood and Miracle Day here ±_±), but overall writing hasn't hit the heights consistently for me, I like Jodie Whittaker, I just don't think their doing her justice at the moment
mikeprice Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 So far I quite like the New Who not sure about the writing - and I wish she would stop with the over dramatic use of the Sonic other than the sonic thing - I like the new Doc. and Bradley is doing great as I thought he would. but I'm quite happy to give it a chance to settle in 1
witch Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 dun dun dun, dun dun dun, oooooooo eeeeeeeeeee ooooooooooooooooooo, oooooeeeoooo dun dun dun, dun dun dun, oooooooooo eeeeeeeeeee ooooooooooooo That's the new version - I prefer the original 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 My favourite version of the Who tune has to be the Orbital version. 1
sonofsanta Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 My favourite version of the Who tune has to be the Orbital version. And lo, across all the land, from all the voices of all the people, no disagreement was heard. 1
E_G_R2 Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 This one is my favourite from the doctor we never really had (apart from the movie and one TV slot) but was the flagship doctor for big finish productions - original Who audio plays https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M_6f6tRR7s
LeMarchand Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 And lo, across all the land, from all the voices of all the people, no disagreement was heard. Bah! Bow before the awesomeness that is...Matt Berry! 1
AJWhite1970 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Not gone through the thread to see if this has already been posted but a few of these were new to me.... https://futurism.media/top-10-doctor-who-easter-eggs 1
AJWhite1970 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Thank the $diety that episode is over. Really starting to waiver over watching the rest of this series.... 1
Ephelyon Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Thank the $diety that episode is over. Really starting to waiver over watching the rest of this series.... Same feeling here. I'll still watch it though; there have been other Who episodes that were panned midway through a series but as a whole it turned out alright. That said, I will come out and say I don't think they're using Whittaker to her best at this point. Then again, that's been said about other Doctors at the same stage in their run too (Capaldi being a good example).
hardtailstar Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I don't normally watch it but did last night. It just felt really odd. Just lacked a story. The little guy eating everything was hilarious!
witch Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 She's SO mannered and over the top - I can't see me sticking with it if the rest of it is like that
Rob_D Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I thought last night's episode was one of the best so far (admittedly not a high bar), I definitely preferred it to Arachnids (and Ghost Monument, and the pilot TBH).
E_G_R2 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Jury out for me, may have to watch it again as I feel it may be the kind of episode where they are dangling a carrot or information but hiding it in the story. Still too much setting of story/history between companions with some (IMO) terrible racial type casting. What was the point of the pregnant alien man? Hope its just a blip. JW still to define her role.
Arthur Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 (edited) The little guy eating everything was hilarious! Yaz drop-kicking the Pting a few metres down the corridor while wrapped in a blanket was funny but seemed at odds with the deadly nature of the little creature. I guess they couldn't get rid of it until the end though? [emoji16] Edited November 5, 2018 by Arthur 1
6Foot2 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 ...Hope its just a blip... It wasn't a blip, he popped! 1
