I had a pancake party, because it was my birthday too. I did 15 eggs worth of pancakes and there were only 2 left at the end. We had sausage, bacon and cheese and then nutella, biscotti spread, lemon, sugar, berries and cream.

ALL DA PANCAKES!

I'm gonna just say it... I don't really like pancakes

That's fine, I'm sure we all have things we hate eating that others like eating. For me it Baked Beans

I'm a little bit late to the thread but we had pancakes too - homemade of course :)

We did a normal set, then a set of fudge pancakes. Toppings consisted of... Cadburys Crème Eggs (slightly warm/melted), Banana, Strawberries, Golden Syrup and sugar - not all together on one pancake obviously.

My partner bought some pre-done ones just in-case 'I did them wrong' - which was obviously highly offensive :)

Besides miss the frying pan, I'm not sure what you can do wrong with pancakes :)

You need a good non-stick pan or they'll end up stuck to the pan + they can be too thick or get burnt.

And the pan needs to be hot enough. The first pancake out is often not good, after that the pan temperature seems to stabilise. I tried the flora spray oil for greasing the pan this year and was impressed with it

Ach, tripe. As long as the pan has enough fat in it (butter for preference), non stick is not necessary.

Did 3 each for the Mrs and me - flipped the first one (which came out okay too!), but as our frying pan has fairly high steep sides, it doesn't lend itself for good flipping!

Standard toppings of golden syrup + lemon juice!

4oz flour, half pint of milk, 1 egg. Beat together. Easy peasy.

Pah!

Half a pint of real ale, half a pint of self raising flour, 1 egg. Beat together. Makes about 4 thick ones
