I can only guess people that have had a long day or do not have a kitchen.

Me! They're cheap and save a load of mess/tidying up and only a few seconds in the microwave.

I tried shop bought the weekend for the novelty of it, though today I am making them from scratch, much nicer than shop bought.

Tried them with Nutella also, would not recommend, it was the most sickly thing I have ever eaten after two of them it was like having a mouthful of glue.

Seriously, shop bought pancakes? It's 4 ingredients, mixed and poured into a pan for 30 seconds. There is no-one on earth who cannot make that. I thought the pre mixed batter was bad enough!

I completely forgot it was Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day, even though one of the kids said to me that she made pancakes and got to eat them, I didn't put two and two together.

It was only on the way home when I listened to the radio that I found out... Derp :)

I would post a picture of the ones that my wife made, but they didn't stay on the plates long enough to be photographed here :)

Lovely in fairness, one of my favourite deserts

As is tradition in the gee40 household, I made a pint of batter and put a couple of pans on the hob then everyone cooked their own pancakes.

The youngest, at university, made a dutch style savoury pancake for his dinner and then sweet pancakes for dessert. I'm impressed with his cooking :) The size of his appetite is no surprise :D

We had the mother in law round and had pancakes for dinner. The Mrs got in a TON of toppings (from ice cream to marshmallow and chocolate spread), surprisingly both the boys stuck with the orange and lemon juice. Only downside to pancakes is that I have to cook them and only have 1 decent pancake pan. By the time everyone else is full (takes awhile with 2 growing boys) and I get to cook some for myself I'm normally starving.

My sister in law always buys the pre-made batter. No idea why, you don't even need to measure the ingredients, break a few eggs in a bowl, splash of milk and then add plain flour until it is whatever thickness you want. Then again this is also the woman who once phoned us to ask how long a vienetta ice cream needs to defrost for (my Mrs wouldn't let me tell her to put it in the microwave for 2 minutes :) ).

Shed loads of pancakes made last night for our house group, started savoury (cheese and bacon), then moved to part savoury (maple syrup and bacon), then onto various other toppings... the "interesting" flavour choice of the evening... after eight mints...

I like the idea of an After Eight Mint pancake :-) Might try that next time.

We had all sorts of combinations....lemon & Sugar, chocolate spread with strawberries and cream, ice cream (with lemon & Sugar), chocolate spread & banana....I love pancake day :-)

I was late, it was my daughters bedtime, I stopped at Sainsburys and grabbed a packet of ready made and they were flippin' 'ansom!

So for those that weren't aware, it was Safer Internet Day yesterday.

Asked my code club today who knew what special day it was yesterday.... Take a wild guess what the response was!

It wouldn't be as annoying had they said 'Shrove Tuesday', but nope, "PANCAKE DAY!!!" was screamed by 15 excited kids.
