Depends. If you have an 80s classic (perhaps a concourse RS Turbo or a factory fresh MG Maestro!) and don't want to use an RF modulator or rip out the radio and spoil the interior, they have a use.

Hell yes Pumping iPods etc into old cars without replacing stereo.

 

Had one in my last car haha, even though it had a CD player much prefer phone/ipod connected to it

Yeah there is... My 2000 Audi has a tape deck - it also has a 12cd changer and an [obviously]after market bluetooth phone system - but it has a tape deck.

Yup still got a use for sure so many cars have those integrated radios that are a pile of toss to get swapped without making a mess an FM transmitter are not great (these ain't amazing either) but better than FM.
