The Corsair cables I linked to earlier are not compatible with the RMi series

Don't know how many of you bought one of the PSU's but if you did, and noticed me mentioning the cables I just bought for them, turns out they're not compatible. Currently chatting with a SCAN rep to cancel the order. Yay distance selling act.

RM series uses 'type 3' cables, RMi uses 'type 4'*.. Something to do with ripple reduction.

Annoyingly the SATA/Molex of the RMi series is apparently still the same type 3 connectors as the RM series.

* Type 3 and 4 being Corsair's name for them. Other PSU's presumably use similar technology but call it something else.

Edit: Here's Corsair's page explaining the difference.

I've not bought a damn thing >_<

I keep seeing things i semi-want, and talking myself out of it. I haven't seen a Samsung 850 EVO 240gb for less than about £55 though, need to buy one for my father-in-laws computer for christmas, no one seems to have done any decent deals on those...as far as I'm aware?

Oh for anyone interested that overclockers UK X99/5820K deal is back up this morning:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/8pack-approved-elite-tier-haswell-e-bundle-intel-core-i7-5820k-4125mhz-gigabyte-x99-gaming-5p-bu-023-gi.html

Not quite as cheap as the £689 they had it on for initially but that was limited to 20 and forum members only, still a bargain though.

EDIT: if anyone buys it though, do yourself a favour and get the PCI-E slot holder for the PCI-E SSD, don't use the onboard port if you want full performance out of it ;) (Can't remember how much difference it makes but there's stats online somewhere)

EDIT2: chances are by the time many of you see this they'll be sold out, they've already got less than 10 left..half sold out within 20 minutes :|

I ended up cancelling the PSU and the cables. Gonna do more research into what PSUs and cables are compatible. Didn't really think that there would be any fancy different types of cables.. So all I've bought was the Windows 10 tablet I linked earlier :)

My Linx 7" turned up today. Will be ordering presents for other people tonight, so won't have time to play :(.

Are you looking into a keyboard case for it? I've been searching around and the main two are either Bluetooth keyboards that you need to recharge fairly often or USB keyboards with non-right angled connectors, meaning it sticks out of the bottom of the case and is easily damaged.

I haven't ordered a Linx yet but they've still got them available (despite selling 16,000 of them!). Bit cheeky as they've listed it as a 'cyber monday' deal (at the same price as black friday) but with a 'free Windows 10 upgrade' included- which would have been 'included' on friday too!

It's not Black Friday anymore, and they probably just forgot to mention W10 was included in the deal. Truth be told if I was looking for a Cyber Monday deal and saw a Black Friday listing I'd assume A) The product was naff and didn't sell, or B) The listing is old and invalid. So re-listing with the new name makes sense to me, from a business perspective.

Just got a protective case for now. See how I use it. Currently have a Playbook (yes, I'm the one who bought one) and never really felt the need for a k/b and it sees daily use.

Will be looking into 7" kb cases later as one of my schools is getting a load of Android tablets soon. I did think that the ones I found weren't particularly great.

I was 1/2 expecting to have to launch a non-delivery claim!

Anyone seen any deals on tower servers for home use? Looking at the Lenovo TS140 and Dell Poweredge T20 with a Xeon CPU, but can't see much out there other than the usual cashback deals.

Need a dish drainer, some Le Creuset dishes would also be neat...

Crazy to think how much they have reduced in price.

Compared to Black Friday last year there has only been a drop of £55.00 going from the 1TB 840 EVO to the 850 EVO. :(
