Cheap TVs from supermarkets are, in my experience, always horrible horrible double horrible. Using the interface on them is usually somewhere around the pulling-teeth level of the agony scale, and the picture is rubbish. Always stick to proper brands - LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony.

Thanks for your input - I've only bought 1 TV previously, a JVC full HD, which is 8 years old and still going strong but is only 37". It is connected to the playstation & sky so never use the actual TV interface.

Lmao HotUKDeals is responding error 522.. I wonder why?

Edit: Lol. Reading reviews on Linx tablets. Found this little gem on Amazon. (Snipped from the rest of the review)

The screen's brightness is more than adequate for indoor use. Unfortunately at the time of writing this review, I am unable to test how it fares in bright sunlight for reasons of british weather

Gave me a good chuckle.

You play in a connected universe where you can bump into other human players. But I've never joined up with anybody else. It's very much a solo game with multiplayer potential :)

Cheers!

I was soooooooooooooooo tempted by the OcUK forum members bundle deal earlier today. It was almost too good to pass up, luckily though i walked away from the screen and talked myself out of it, it would have been a silly buy based on what i currently have.......it was one hell of a bargain though, and even when it goes on "today only" tomorrow at a slightly higher price it'll still be a bargain (i7 5920X, X99 board, 16GB DDR4, pre overclocked by 8pack for something like £690 rather than the retail £900+)

Instead I'm in the market for a far more boring tumble dryer, anyone seen any good deals on those? :(

How the fudge did you talk yourself out of that? Waat. Ludicrous price!

Did you try the Tumble Dryers thread?

I just ordered myself a LINX 1010B.. I hate giving money to PC World, personally, but they're doing a deal where if you buy a new Linx you get the keyboard dock with it*, £140 isn't a bad price for it, it's a little higher than what I wanted to spend, but everything lower is too much of a drop in specs. Oh, and I got a stylus for 97p. The purple one isn't available for delivery, but the red one is, so sorted lol. My tablet can be red and black, like my PC :p

I think that'll be the only thing I'm buying this year.

* You have to wait 30 days before claiming, though, presumably to make sure you don't buy it, claim, then return it. So I've bookmarked the link and screenshot the page. Should be enough.

Well i've already got a 4770k, z87 board, 16gb ram and 2 x 480gb ssds in RAID0........and a baby due in April :p So while I'm a sucker for a bargain, and while i was REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY tempted to go and grab the credit card, i decided to get up walk around a bit, think on it and finally concluded the wife would castrate me. :D

Ha! You're probably not wrong. Best of luck with the little one when it arrives :)

Maybe you should be seeing if there are black Friday deals on bottle heaters and plug socket covers :p

Sorry to bring a downer on the thread but here's a bit of bedtime reading for you... FatallyFlawed

Most big retailers have withdrawn them from sale already- the only two shops I know that still unfortunately sell them are Argos and Maplin. Maplin have removed them from sale as of earlier this week.

Just purchased 2 x Linx7 tablets for £39.99 each from eBay based entirely on this thread. Might, and I repeat might look at replacing the PE departments trusty and much abused Netbooks with these instead (or I might just keep them in the IT department...). Anyway, for £40 each, worth a play!!
