As someone with a 980Ti.. They're fantastic :D Would recommend, if you've got the cash to burn.

Ooh that is quite nice! I'm in the market for a new tablet right now (I'd also accept a laptop if anyone spies some good bargains) as my gen1 Hudl is really worse for wear right now. It's been great for the price, but it's extremely sluggish now and blah. Probably worth me wiping it, but I want a new shiny lol

Question being, is it upgradable to W10?

@DalekSec - sounds like you just have a ridiculously expensive toothbrush lol. It's an atom with only 1GB of RAM and not even a 1080p screen. Of course it's gonna be a bit naff and cheap lol.

I've always gone with 'If the tech is cheaper than my toothbrush it ain't gonna be very good'

Tbf my toothbrush cost £1.99 at Boots (I know, big spender!) so guess this £40 tablet must be 20x as good! ;)

Yes, but very white teeth!

:becky:

Surely there's got to be some kind of diminishing return on toothbrushes though. Never understood the point of those vibrating ones. Mum bought one for me when I was younger and it made my teeth feel horrible and made brushing my teeth feel just.. urg.. no thank you. I'll stick to a manual one.

Found the Linx7 for £39.99... Linx7, 7" Windows Tablet, 32GB, HDMI, Bluetooth, Intel Quad Core & MS Office 365 | eBay

Kind of tempted. Have a Surface RT already but obvs that doesn't have full fat Windows on it.

Got to be worth a punt for £40 with a Win8 license included?

Am I making it up or do some of you deploy these to the kids? Any opinions on them?

Not forgetting that it includes 1 Year Office 365 Subscription too (w/methods of extracting key so can be installed/used on alternative Windows PC/Device) and does upgrade to Windows 10.

2 main negatives; 1Gb RAM and poor 2mpix camera(s) but for less than £40! (compared to original price when these were first released/reviewed)

Loads of cheap Windows/Android tablets at the moment; i'm going to use one inside car as a SatNav (Google Maps) and perhaps streaming media/online music/radio player...)

Indeed! Though I'm not a fan of Office365 because it's admin back end is ruddy awful

I think I'd happily pay a bit more for something a little bit better, but considering all I want a cheap laptop/tablet for is for talking to people whilst I'm in bed (I'm visioning the #GaraClaire jokes coming up already... :p) and the odd little thing, I don't mind getting a low-powered, cheap jobbie.

This is what I'm thinking too. It'd be nice to have something more portable than a laptop to take around with me for the odd jobs that require full Windows. As I can't install anything other than iexplore as a browser on the Surface RT, I'm unable to use a proper ad blocker while I'm surfing on the train or where I'm away for the weekend and can't be bothered to take a laptop with me.

Tempted - don't need one, but for £40...

Must try to resist as I'll never find enough time to actually play this!

If anyone sees any good deals on either a Lumia 640 XL or 950 XL, do tell. (Though I can't see the latter dropping to what I see as "affordable" just yet).
