Andrew_C Posted August 25 Posted August 25 TV really isn't my thing, but Norsemen was recommended to Mrs C. A bit like an "after the watershed*" Chelmsford 123, or Asterix. I have just seen that it is far from new... * definitly

The opening and closing music in the last ep were odd choices, though. Just finished watching. We thought it was really good - better than the rather leaden House of the Dragon. Quite low budget but good acting and script and a bit of humour, grimness and crudity in places. Hopefully they will make a series of the other 2 novellas as well!

There was a weather-related delay. 1
LeMarchand Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Finished S4 of Reacher, which was an improvement from S3. Started the spinoff, Neagley, which had a good first 2 eps but it seemed obvious what was going on from the first ep. I'm wondering how they can string out the "mystery" for the rest of the season. Guess that never stopped 24. Finished K-Drama Tomorrow. The ep with the war vet mentioned previously was definitely the high point, though the one about "comfort women" was pretty good, and the one where the "case of the week" was a suicidal dog was... interesting. Like most K-Dramas, this was one-and-done so had a proper ending but I'd have preferred better closure for the lead lady and her love from centuries ago.
MicraMan Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Seal Team (series not a movie) Just started watching this not bad for a time passer. I do like the realistic movements and that the actors use genuine night vision as from my experience using mine your body does move differently so its nice to see. As with all series some episodes could do with some more substance to it but other than that worth a watch if your into this sort of thing....
LeMarchand Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Cr@p Happens (Netflix) As you can gather from the title, trailer has rude words (in German but in the ENG subs too). Unsuccessful in life, love and his would-be rap career, Toni returns to his home town of Kacken when his mother dies. He finds he has a son, but can he look after a child when he is offered a record contract? Deeply odd German comedy. We're 3 episodes in and beginning to quite enjoy it. 1

garethEds Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I've been off work since Tuesday with what has turned from a cold into a chest infection. So in between coughing, spluttering, sleeping and generally feeling miserable - I've been watching The Agency Season 1. Really enjoyed them. Just started Season 2. Will do a few episodes today in the peace.
Simcfc73 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I managed to get another 30 day trail for apple tv so bingeing the new series of Slow Horses (excellent) and need to try and cram in the last series of Ted Lasso (it finished so well so not sure how they can do this).. Silo (watched the first series).... Matchbox (seems daft fun)... the ryan reynolds film (looks fun)... and pluribus (saw the first one free on Prime). I did intend to feel ill today and spend all day watching tv but my wife is a childminder so its more peaceful at work than sat at home.
LeMarchand Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Below (Netflix). Trailer gets loud! A mysterious iceberg appears near an isolated Newfoundland fishing community and something in the water threatens to destroy the town. Entertaining miniseries that has a lot in common with The Swarm including a cast member in Alexander Karim, who plays a scientist in both. However this is much more of a creature feature apart from Episode 5 which goes off on a tangent (possibly a setup for a spin-off?).
mavhc Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Foundation S3, good Widow's Bay, weird Ann Droid, funny Sunny, the other robot helper show, interesting The Comeback S3, funny My 2 Cents, excellent (S3 of Tear Along the Dotted Line) How to get to Heaven from Belfast, funny The Chair Company, funny Young Sherlock, mysterious Ripley, distinct lack of aliens Alien Earth, distinct lack of Ripley (excellent though)

Bit silly in places - but it was ok.

LeMarchand Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Finished Neagley on Prime Video. Entertaining but it was obvious what was going on from ep 1 and the amount of bodies that team left in their wake should have seen them locked up for life. Or, it being America, at least in court for the rest of their lives. Still, enough twists and turns to keep me amused.
NetworkDirector Posted October 26 Posted October 26 The Diplomat Season 4 just Finished, absolutely fantastic end to the series, for now... Hope we get a Season 5 1
southhamster Posted Wednesday at 22:40 Posted Wednesday at 22:40 Us southhamsters just watched The Cage on BBC iplayer. Based around a dodgy casino in Liverpool. Cracking script and some excellent acting with just enough humour amid the terrible lives of everyone in it. Recommended.

Also ploughing through Brooklyn99 and the US version of Ghosts. Both easy watches with not too much brainpower required.
LeMarchand Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Finished German comedy Cr*p Happens on Netflix, which was fun and featured a lot of wth? humour. Also finished Ludwig season two on iPlayer. OK, but I feel that the arc plot will never get a sensible conclusion.

LeMarchand Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 13 hours ago, 6Foot2 said: Positioning for series 3? Link: Ludwig commissioned for third series It's more that I don't see how the whole "cyclical murders" bit can make sense in a non-supernatural world. Though I've always wanted to see a show that started "normally" but later turned out to be a horror show that, if you rewatched the first seasons, had all the clues in plain sight. Ludwig seems more of a "we'll work out the answers as we go along and if we know we have to wrap it up we'll cobble something together" deal. Of course, not many shows get to wrap up - they just get cancelled.
nicholab Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Netflix: The Rookie But no one seems to its a fair cop; I'll come quietly. It's very different from Dixon of Dock Green and The Bill. Is anyone rewatching Bugs?
