It's totally immersed me in its world and the attention to detail is fantastic.

Its next on my list andmy expectations are high as the book is an old favourite of mine.

 

Just finished X-Men 97 though and you should all go watch that. Amazing visually and great story.

Started Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix. Based on a Neil Gaiman comic series and Sandman-adjacent it's a bit like a better version of Lockwood & Co. Unfortunately, by the time we get to start it as "Bonus" Daughter #1 has actually decided to join us for it and spends ages before she actually sits down, Mme LeMarchand is already 1/2 asleep and slept through most of the 2 eps we have seen (I drifted off a couple of times, too but this isn't a reflection on the quality of the show). Not a patch on Sandman, but OK so far.

We're enjoying dead boy detectives so far and I think I like it more than Sandman which is entirely ridiculous for most of its run.

Not that the DBD's aren't also entirely ridiculous, but it's fun with some genuinely horrifying moments and i'm enjoying it immensely.

Any good? It wasn't particularly interested from the trailer but then I read about people being inflamed by its "woke" agenda, which intrigued me. Is it "woke" because it has loads of those Chinese lot on a plane to China?

That's kinda what I thought it would be like. The sort of thing that back in the days of only 3/4/5 channels, would have been something I'd have watched, but there's so much to choose from now that there's not enough time for it all.

Agreed.. my eyes hurt from the amount of eye rolling that I did. Very run of the mill stuff.

 

I watched the first episode of Dark Matters last night but fell asleep. Very in keeping with the Apple Tv style.

Finished Season 2 of The Lazarus Project. The season gets even more brain bending because, as well as the PL loops, we now have actual time travel mixed into the equation. It soon gets quite hard to keep track of who is on what timeline, but it remains consistently engaging and adds some nice humour such as George using the loops like replays in a game to learn his opponent's moves, George and Sara using time travel to find out whether they should be together and a great bit where Sam Troughton (Patrick's grandson), as a meek scientist, steps up to the plate.

 

It's not perfect, the budget shows in some dodgy back projection and a somewhat poor armed battle towards the end, but well worth a look. Warning 1: Ep 6 ends on a "What the heck is going to happen?" cliffhanger then episode 7 explains how they got there so you might end up watching the final 3 eps in one sitting. Warning 2: There is a similar ending to the final ep, which will never be resolved due to cancellation, but it is quite a good place to leave it. Warning 3: Post credits sequence in the final ep kinda explains one thing, but will probably give you more questions.

I really enjoyed it and found myself wanting more when it ended which is always a good sign. I completely agree with your take on Sandman.

Surprised by the lack of Sandman love, but then I started reading it with Issue #1.

 

Hoping that, if they do "specials" as part of S2 they do what should be the next two. I suspect that the "A Midsummer Night's Dream" would be animated for budgetary reasons (though would love a live-action version). As they did the possibly more contentious "Calliope", I also hope they won't skip "Facade" which has come in for a lot of criticism of late.

Plenty of misdirection (was it him/her?) but in the end "whodunit" wasn't the surprise it might have been.

Been watching The Outlaws season 3 atm. I didn't think they could pull off a third season, but they have and even though Christopher Walken isn't in it (apart from a very nice guest appearence) it hasn't faltered. The script is still as sharp and funny and the running gag of Malaki and Rani's train break-up does make me smile each time it comes up.

Ricks accent is still terrible.

I enjoyed the Halo TV show, Lionesses, Jack Reacher and Fallout as well, But there hasn't been a lot that has captivated me recently other than them.

Currently watching 3 Body Problem and Fallout, Re-watching Dexter, re-visiting Inside No9 as I have some early season missed episodes and stopped around season 4.

We Are Lady Parts on channel 4.

With series 2 just released we decided to give this a go and are very happy we did.

 

Witty, sharp, very funny and with the band members all having learned their instruments so they could actually play as a band its authentic.

 

Really impressed with this one!

I've been picking up DVDs from eBay of the original Scooby Doo series, so I've started watching them again before I hand them to my niece for her birthday.

 

I'm just testing them, honest! I need to watch every single episode on every disk!!
