Just like some kids think all staff live at school, therefore anything IT do is by magic and during holidays that's doubly true.

Our end of term was Thursday last week, with the leaving speeches for staff on the Friday (complete with BBQ). This week is TOIL week for teachers, so there have been a few in. Today, officially, term time only staff finish, so starting next week the ICT staff have the place to ourselves for 6 weeks and we can run amok and get all the major work done. Two weeks and then I'm off for three, so I'm going to be very busy for the next fortnight.

Tis the last day for us too, just finished the Staff meeting. Many tears were shed (not by me) and much alcohol was consumed (definitely by me).

Full time here. So work all year round. Get 30 days holiday a year but I've used nearly all mine! Only got a few days booked off here and there through out the summer.

 

Our students finished last Thursday so they get 8 weeks off. Nice to have a quiet school for 8 weeks!

Broke up last week so already had one of the seven weeks with no staff. Bliss!

Just finished the 3rd week no teachers. All new kit in and new users migrated up to 365. Yes independent.

Both schools broke up today There are various teacher training days next week and in Sept - but I'm not back until Thursday 3rd September.

It's my birthday next week and this year I am actually on holiday for it - yay!

 

Got two weeks at home, then going on a Cuba tour, then two more weeks before I have to go back to work.

Already got a shedload of things to do when I get back - all of which would be better if I could do them when there were no children in - not going to happen though

I get 15 days off in a year... 5 days leave and the rest is public holidays.

Not really taken a formal 'holiday' in recent years... but that's about to change big time in a couple of weeks! Off to Budapest for a 7-day music festival followed by 2 or 3 weeks travelling around Europe and staying in Youth Hostels with a couple of mates- Prague, Vienna, Berlin, Hannover, Amsterdam and then home. See y'all in September!

Officially, I'm term time only +2 weeks and I've already worked at least 1 of those over Christmas. I also did a 3 day training course at NEOS in Worcester over Easter and I've booked myself in for another 3 day course in August (during the two week period when the school is completely closed!). So does that mean I'll have the whole summer off? If only! I may put in for some overtime in September though.

Finish on Friday and have only been authorised 1 day for overtime over the holiday (were I'm going to flash the AP/Controller firmware and empty/rebuild the server room to get rid of all the junk and try and give me space to work). I could do with about 2 weeks of uninterrupted time so I could refresh all the laptops and do a bunch of clean up on the server/disk images. That is not likely to ever happen though so will have to continue trying to do it on a live system that is constantly in use.....

The last 15 minutes before i am out of here, will be in on Thursday and a day before the staff are back in, apart from that, bring it on! Holidayz! happy dayz...
