caffrey Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Amazon Black Friday deals, I'll buy more stuff I don't need...
featured_spectre Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Ahhh Black Friday...the American tradition of rushing out, stampeding and potentially killing people (by the stampedes) to buy stuff at discounted prices the day after you celebrate being thankful for all you have....I love how the rest of the emulates these sorts of things :|
Garacesh Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Yeah.. I did always find that odd.. "Dear Lord Jesus, we pray and thank you for all that we have, on this day. We thank you for our families.. etc, etc, etc" The next day: OMG XBOX DISCOUNT RAARGH! People camping out all night to buy things.. The mind boggles.. Won't catch me doing that.. Not trying to be smug, but I really don't understand it. On the flip side, The Oatmeal is selling a Blerch stress ball that I kind of want..
Disaster Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I'm selling a door on Gumtree, I'll knock it down to a tenner if someone picks it up before Friday!
X-13 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Who exactly is Black Friday FOR? Everyone who would buy this stuff is working...

Garacesh Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Who exactly is Black Friday FOR? Everyone who would buy this stuff is working... There's actually a pseudo-conspiracy theory that its main purpose is for the government to get their welfare money back for a month. .. Despite the fact that the vast majority of the purchases are through private establishments and very little of that trickles back into the American government via tax.

That makes perfect sense and I have no reason to doubt you at all.
rickjames Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 We bought an SSD as we prep some kind of multimedia machine to put in our staffroom. Might keep an eye out for a monitor or two.
korifugi Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I find it interesting that it's made it's way over here... I can kinda understand ASDA (Walmart), and Amazon, but now British companies? Why? (Not that I'm complaining if I can get something I want for cheap) Also - @Garacesh, I now keep singing the Octodad theme tune in my head everytime I see your sig. "Who's that man in the....." NO, NO, NO - GET OUT OF MY HEAD! 1
Garacesh Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Also - @Garacesh, I now keep singing the Octodad theme tune in my head everytime I see your sig. "Who's that man in the....." NO, NO, NO - GET OUT OF MY HEAD! It's woorrkiiiinnng Gaaa-raaa-ceeeeeeee-eesh... Nobody suspects a thiiiiiiing

DMcGuigan Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 It's woorrkiiiinnng Gaaa-raaa-ceeeeeeee-eesh... Nobody suspects a thiiiiiiing I've been singing the Octodad theme all weekend, haven't played it in months. Now I know who's fault it is! 1
Garacesh Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I'll be keeping an eye out, I'm hoping tesco will do a deal on their hudl 2. But I'm not optimistic. Ooh that would be nice. If they wanted to be really awesome, they'd offer a trade-in discount if you schlep them your old Hudl 1.. I'd totally do that. But they won't.
visioN Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 My OCZ Vertex SSD has just died so I'll be looking for a decent deal. Use Evo 840 at work which seem pretty decent

I dont want to get into a religious debate but that's just my thinking.....

LeMarchand Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Those mentioning graphics cards.... Get thee behind me, Satan! Must... resist... Don't actually need a new card - at least not until Witcher 3 comes out (I assume) - but that's very tempting. Be strong!
