LeMarchand Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Took me a while to realise that a giant swan wasn't surfacing behind a small duck! (Beaten to it!) Love the treehouse. 1
Dos_Box Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I don't know why I hadn't posted this before. Taken a few years back of the reflection from our office block windows onto Preston prison walls in the morning: 1
arwen Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I should really remember to add line spacing in future:-)
HarryMonkey Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 An interesting read ... https://fstoppers.com/critiques/how-give-and-receive-constructive-criticism-right-way-170095?utm_campaign=Main_RSS&utm_medium=RSS&utm_source=FS_RSS
Norbert Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Been into photography for a while now and even manage to make some extra cash doing it semi-professionally too. I find it good for the blood pressure! Here are a few of my efforts - quality of them a bit mangled as they came off Farcebook. 3
arwen Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Really like that 3rd one Norbet. Almost like it is saying "And what you looking at?!!" :-D 1
Dos_Box Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Took a train into Preston last night and this beautiful machine pulled up alongside just after I got there: The Scots Guardsman. 2
HarryMonkey Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Nice. I do love a steam train. The first one is very atmospheric.
Stone_Charli Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 A couple from the weekend just gone... took a spontaneous trip down to Bristol, and stopped by Clevedon to see the sea on the way home. Didn't take my camera so these are from my Nexus 5X. 1
Dos_Box Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Nice. I do love a steam train. The first one is very atmospheric. Yeah, it was peeing down and cold with little wind so the steam lingered quite well. I managed to get that before the place was swamped with train spotters (not kidding!)

Stone_Charli Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 I have a 5x too. They do take a pretty good pic for a lower priced phone They certainly do... It was a welcome upgrade from the pretty substandard camera on the Nexus 5!

A colleague came into work this morning wielding a rather large steel lever, apparently it was the regulator lever from a steam train of similar era to the Mallard. Still in good condition and very heavy - woe betide any pupil who messed around in his lessons today!
AMLinington Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I have a 5x too. They do take a pretty good pic for a lower priced phone It's pretty incredible the quality you get from phones these days - my LG G3 takes amazing pictures, and the auto-HDR mode makes it easy. Half the incredible photos from our honeymoon came from my phone rather than LeHusband's Lumix. Even the Panoramas came out beautifully.
sted Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I have a 5x too. They do take a pretty good pic for a lower priced phone i thought the 5x camera was actually quite poor but that may be just the fact my previous phone was a lumia 925
dezt Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I've been playing in Lightroom, this is one is from Tulum in Mexico last year.

jmak Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Sometimes the app does really strange things with image previews. A swan sitting on a fence? This I have to see 😀 3

arwen Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Most Heron's nest in trees, so not that unusual for them. Swans however have little reason to be on a fence. :-)
enjay Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Most Heron's nest in trees, so not that unusual for them. Do they? I'd assumed they were ground-nesting because of their size. It still looked odd in such a small tree as that. Most Swans however have little reason to be on a fence. :-) Maybe they're undecided on something... Sorry. 1

smurfomatic Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 A few nice shots last night from the Mobbs Memorial Match. For those that don't know, Edgar Mobbs played for Bedford, Northampton and England prior to WWI and formed his own battalion after being told he was too old for a commission. Eventually he made it to Lieutenant Colonel before being killed at Passchendaele. This year is the centenary of his death, and every year since 1918 (WW2 aside) there has been a memorial match with the proceeds going to local junior rugby. 2
hardtailstar Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Went out for a walk on Sunday with my mum and met this chap Taken on the Google Pixel
