Last week we took the dogs up Scafell, enjoying the views on the way up.

 

Then it got a bit foggy at the top and it followed us all the way down back to Eskdale

lol, he wasn't and neither was my wife who chose to tell me at this point that she had blisters, which made the return journey worse. She still hasn't forgiven me! The dogs have though! :-D

I don't use mine as much since I got the EOS M3 for landscape type photography. (Purely because it was smaller when hiking and I can use existing lenses with the converter ). The autofocus is still superior on the 450D so still gets some use.

The Tees Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough

 

851 feet (259 m), leaving a span between the centres of the towers of 590 feet (180 m), the beam of the bridge being carried at a height of 160 feet (49 m) above the road. The bridge is the longest remaining transporter bridge in the world.

Skye's really nice, don't expect sunshine though so you should get some nice moody shots of the mountains.

Nice photos, we did Oban and the Islands a couple of years back at the end of May so we have plenty of wet weather kit, although it was surprisingly good until we stepped off the small ferry boat onto Lismore.

There is a row of coloured shop fronts like that on Skye too, in Portree. Is this a common Scottish thing? Also, a very fine fish and chip shop among them last time I looked for it, don't know if it is still there. But if it isn't, the Cafe Arriba on the road down to the waterfront is a good alternative.

 

I love your second photo, the lighting is great. Some of my photos were taken on a little Lumix compact, which doesn't really have the oomph for the light conditions

Thanks for the tips enjay well lookout for the chippy or the cafe, the shops are on Mull Tobermory or if your the a fan of the program Balomory on CBeebies , the second one was taken on my Canon G10 still going strong taken in raw mode then converted to jpeg.
