I wonder how long you'd last before turning a strange colour because of all the colouring... Like the Sunny D disaster of the 90s.
Joanne Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have a shop local to me called Sharif's. They do primarily peri peri chicken, but also curries. OM NOM NOM NOM!
Tesla Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) pizza was a close second..... admitedly a new indian thats opened has sold me, they do pineapple rice, which is lush. when i first got into curry, i used to have a malaya (which is cooke dwith pineapples) but now days it is far too mild for me, so i tend to like this new place as i can get pineapple rice... haha Edited June 4, 2014 by Tesla
Scotbynature Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I may be a bit boring but it would have to be, Fish and Chips. My one addition would be curry sauce on the side.
Tesla Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 oh and i have to have a keema naan to go along side whatever indian meal i go for
unixman_again Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Something from The French Deli. In the winter it's a cup of soup and a demi-baguette or a couple of samosas. The ploghman's baguette is yummy and they bake the baguettes on site. The only problem is getting in there as it is usually full of our students.
abillybob Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Indian but a Chinese comes close! Indian because it tends to fill me up more, plus there's a place near me called Dilraz and their Tikka Masala is to die for, it's so bad for you the whole dish is bright red due to their food colouring and it burns the bottom when it comes out but a small price to pay for such an epicly tasting dish
E_G_R2 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Curry The other year during national curry week I had one every day of the week + Saturday.
Simcfc73 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Fish and Chips, I grew up on them and love em.... Kevs in Stanley is the best
sparkeh Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Dominos Pizza - Large Cheese and Tomato, with extra cheese and Jalapenos. Not that I have thought about this or anything

mac_shinobi Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 has to be Chinese! Black bean, sweet and sour, crispy beef, shredded duck, egg foo young, ribs, sweet and sour soup, chow mien mmmm starving now! what's that site again?? just eat..... This - chinese ( with all the different dishes they do ) I love the massive pancake / spring rolls ( whatever they are called ) , half a duck with pancakes + housin sauce and all the other dishes, esp king prawn curry and what was mentioned above with a few good drinks and then some lovely ice cream ie ben n jerrys or hagan daaz etc
Tesla Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 my chinese of choice is egg fried rice, sweet n sour chicken balls, chips, beef with mushrooms and chicken chow mein.... not had chinese in aaaaages come to think of it.
fiza Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Talking about this at lunch today at work....If you could have one take away for the rest of your life, what would it be? i'd probably go for....indian if i had to choose... The problem with this thread is that the choices are too varied. Going for Indian means a selection of dishes, same for any countries "take away" (Chinese, Lebanese). You could probably go a week or 2 without having the same meal. The question should be which 1 single take away meal would you go for. For me its got to be a seekh kebab roll with loads of chilli sauce and salad. I could easily eat that every single day!!! Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread in any way.
Dos_Box Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) Schwama. They have a place near where @Ric_ @Domino and @john work that does them. One day I hope to keep it for more than a few hours. Saying that, we have a very nice Indian chippy called Ali's near the EduGeek office that not only does great regular chippy food but does things like a gorgous mixed grill naan for only £3.50. I have to limit myself to one or two lunches a month there. Edited June 4, 2014 by Dos_Box 1
