Novalee Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Odd question, but curious. Do people wear business dress such as suits, or tend to lean more towards lab coats etc. Do your schools have a staff dress code?

If it is going to be a messy day, jeans/jogging bottoms and a tshirt with trainers. A normal run of the mill day would be shirt, trousers, tie (optional), shoes or black trainers.

korifugi Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'm employed by one site to take care of several others so smart is the general theme. I go for shoes, trousers, shirt & tie. I also add a waistcoat as it allows me to keep my tie out of the way.

Mako Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 We used to wear shirts and ties, but when our nice clothes were getting ruined from being in ceilings and crawling under dirty, dusty desks and covered in stuff from drilling holes for cabling, we petitioned for some work wear. We now have polo shirts, jumpers and sweaters provided by the school, with the school logo on and "ICT" underneath. I am also getting away with wearing black jeans, because they're jet black and more durable than trousers. This happened a few years ago and started a trend. The Science techs and cover supervisors now have their own kit in different colours. Ours is black, science get red, cover supers get blue.

Yeah our cleaners, site team and midday supervisors have these polo shirts with logo's on in different colours depending on which department. Seem to be catching on very well - only a matter of time before they make their way up here. To be honest I don't think I'd mind too much, although it's nice to 'dress up' (or at least have the option) a bit some days, depending on what you have planned.

Trapper Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Whatever I feel like! Blue jeans are the only exception (but black jeans - fine!) It vary from full suit, to shirt and tie, to cargos and a t-shirt. I know when I've gone too far as the Head will ask if I bothered changing clothes last night!
