Hello all, Our school has recently switched over to a new ISP who has blocked youtube in a way that needs conditional dns forwarding to enable it again. I am new to working on the server with the networking tickets so wanted to check on here, at the top where the domain is asked for will this just need to be out domain name for the school or is there something that I have not learnt about yet that would need to go there? TIA and kind regards,

Giving DVD Styler a go now, cheers!

Hi all, As windows dvd maker has been removed in windows 10 I am looking for a freeware alternative. I was asked to make a dvd of a PGL trip and spent about 10 mins in movie maker looking for where the burn to dvd option had gone. I have only just been asked and I need to make 30 copies by the end of the day. TECHS TO THE RESCUE (hopefully)... TIA.

It is a drive replicated from the local documents folder. Will go and have a look at them now, thanks. -
Good morning geeks and geekettes Over the holidays out NA has migrated our servers to newer models before leaving for another job opportunity, I am an IT tech now having to handle the whole schools system and I am struggling with the network side of everything. One issue we are having is that some users are unable to save anything to they're documents of the replicated documents drive. The drive is shared and they all have permission to read and write but still some users have not reported issues and others cannot save. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Same on my Yamaha, Regardles of vehicle type i cant see a point to not owning an actioncam/dashcam... £40 quid for a decent one off of amazon and even if you never need to use it, its better than to wish you had it if something happens.

Not there either, thanks for the suggestion though. Going to run recuva on the camera, video folder and temp folder and accept my fate if i cannot get them back
-

Right im currently Sh***ing myself as I have been asked to put two short videos on a disk of one of our SEN children making a huge leap with they're mobility to show the parents. I copied the videos to my HDD then deleted them from the camera as policy here dictates, then i inserted a blank disk and dragged the videos over to copy as with a USB stick. As i dont this the Videos have disappeared from the original folder and are not on the disk. I have ran Recuva on both the folder on my HDD and the camera, the files are showing but will not play when I have recovered them. Any and all help is much appreciated, i don't want to think of what will happen to me if i have to go to the SENCO and try to explain to a techphobe that " the computer just lost them , i cant get them back and its not my fault". Gonna go cry in the toilets now, brb.

Hats off to you Joanne! Myself, I cant seem to stay on a routine. I am somewhat slim and can run for a couple of hours a night, but I just cannot keep motivated enough to get on the treadmill after a long exhausting day at work. Maybe booking a holiday and buying clothes too small for me will help haha.

Myself and the network admin use Acer aspire 3810tz's: intel dual core 1.3ghz, 2 gb RAM, 120 GB HDD. And its one of the better laptops in the school. *crai*

G'd afternoon guys and gals, (moved as I think it was in the wrong place before) A member of staff came to me with an issue that her internet is too slow on her desktop at home with a BT hub and a fibre optic plan. After showing me a screencap of a speedtest and asking a few questions it sounds to me like the PC is too far from the hub and the antenna is behind the pc in the corner of the room. I have recommended a powerline adapter or to buy in a wifi extender but the member of staff wants something a bit easier so I have an idea that i want to run by the networking pros to make sure I am not missing anything. TLDR Will this: scan.co.uk/products/newlink-magnetic-base-for-sma-antenna Fit onto this cards antena: scan.co.uk/products/asus-dual-band-wireless-n600-pci-e-adapter-2-x-r-sma-antenna Or does anyone else know of compatible alternatives if these will not work, I just want to get the antenna up into open space with nothing obstructing them. I know this will not yield much improvement over a powerline adapter or wifi booster but I cannot force said member of staff to buy them Thanks http://awscdn.cdngeek.net/images/smilies/biggrin.png

[ipad] LightspeedMDM/Ipad app deployment woes
burnsyb0y replied to burnsyb0y's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Sorry to come across a bit simple with this but this is my first time doing any of this, if by mdm you mean deploying the apps from my desktop using lightspeed then yes. The NA has found that app installation has been left unticked going off of what i have just been told so we are going to try that now. But other than that there is nothing i can see that would be preventing anything. Edit: Will keep you updated thank you! -

I am afraid i have no clue what you mean on the first two but we are not setting users or assigning ipads to users as they are a class set and not assigned to a specific student. -

@snagrat Will run that by the NA who knows more than me about the lightspeed set up and get back to you. Thanks. -
Hello ladies and gents, Myself and the network admin have been tasked with setting up a bunch of new Ipad airs and install apps via Lightspeed MDM. I have signed in and activated Itunes on all of the Ipads now however when deploying apps, nothing installs. Also when we go on to the app store to install manually there is no where to download apps, only music, books, movies, ect. I have little experience with apple products and literally no experience with lightspeed other than browsing around the restrictions so any and all help is much appreciated! Thanks

+1 sums it up! I made the mistake of getting an AJS chopper as my first bike, it never worked properly and pushed me to buy Japanese.
