Of all the logos thus far SYSMAN's is definitely the best, nice, imple and prosseional looking.

I just don't see this fixation people have with retaining the evil eyes and the horns, its hardly professional and has nothing to do withIT really.

Kudos to SYSMAN, thats a nice logo, would look good on anything and that little computer pic at the side could be used as the browser thumbnail icon.

The horns are just one of those things ... perhaps expressing that at heart we are all evil megalomaniacs that want to run our school, if not the world.

THere is nothing stopping that from being part of the 'alternative' side ... the bit on t-shirts and mugs, but yes .. I like SYSMAN's too ... the darker 'EDU' means that you tend to stress that when you are saying the whole word ... perhaps putting that Education is the important part of the site rather than just being a bunch of geeks.

I think changing the symbol at the end might be needed ... if you include a symbol like that it then becomes an icon for the group and will be one of the key things that is remembered (like the Cisco and Apple logos).

I quite like sysman's logo. The font reminds me of Sophos for some reason.

Maybe there could be a combination of DosBox's efforts with this one so that some of the existing themes like the devil/angel can be perserved to show that this isnt just a serious site...so it plays on the more friendly side of EduGeek, a supportive community as opposed to just a boringly professional organization.

Put devil horns and a tail on the end logo - which more make it more memorable in line with gumbledook's suggestion.

Cheers for those comments guys. The logo to the right was just an icon I used as an example. The main idea was just show how a clean web 2.0 style logo might look vs what has already has been made.

Why not invent some kind of avatar who can embody the 'edugeek'. He/she can have horns and a little pitchfork. You could then use little tag lines like 'edugeek...sticking his fork into peoples bottoms since 2005'.

Maybe there could be a little family of edugeeks with names like... er.. dos_box, _ric_ and HumbleSpook.

Sorry. It's Friday afternoon and my last day in a proper job!

You is da man! Great logo.

Excellent, SYSMAN, truly.

Far more inkeeping with things in my opinion.

And a damn sight more professional-looking than the so-called professionally-designed logo.

Well done that man :)

I hope sysman_mk doesn't mind me taking the design to the ying and yang stage just so that folk can see what it might look like. apologies. It's a damn fine design and I'm extremely jealous. you need to view it full size.

I love Sysman_mk's logos, the first one is my favourite, far better than the others we have seen. Although I still like the current site one.

FFS - drop this whole angel/devil cr*p. It's going to mean FA to anyone who doesn't read this thread!

That said, let me add my support for SYSMAN_MK's effort. Maybe a competition would be the way to go.

Thinking back to the whole London 2012 logo thing, I think BBC News ran a sort of informal competition for a replacement logo and got quite a lot of really good responses. (OK, our audience isn't quite what their's is), but don't underestimate the talent that we do have.

Of course, a big competition would call for a big prize...

What could be bigger than having your logo at the top of the Edugeek website, mugs, T-shirts, mouse mats, pens, ironing boards :p ect.

Yh that is a good idea ''ajbritton'' i vote for that.. and if i designed one and say mine got picked than i would love my logo to be on the top of the site, mugs, t-shirts etc..

Thumbs up for a competition here (Y)
