SYNACK Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Don't let the logistics of a worldwide launch get in the way of a good moan Have I ever
Theblacksheep Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Nearly every full price xboxone game has additional transactions. Bit unfair to call them microtransactions, there is nothing micro about paying £32 for a Forza5 car. Looks like a mistake in the pricing for Forza5 in this example taken from a stream, but to have this as standard in full price games is terrible. Updating the xboxone without internet access: A file was posted online incase emergency manual recovery was needed. Some people worked out that the file could be used to update the system without connecting to the internet first. The file and info have been pulled by MS: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-21-how-to-update-xbox-one-without-connecting-it-to-the-internet You should be able to find this elsewhere..... ifixit teardown WIP Standard SATA HD 5400rpm 8mb cache 500GB HD. Can physically be replaced, does void warranty. Edited November 21, 2013 by Theblacksheep
CAM Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Is it me or is it easier to buy 100 currency for a euro multiple times then buy one of the packs? 1EUR for 100 x 4 to make 400 for 4EUR or pay nearly 5EUR for 375? And yeah it's disgusting. About time people started getting Microtransaction weary TBH. I am, otherwise I'd still be subbed to STO but they want a transaction and more on top. :/
SYNACK Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Got mine, just updating now, download is quick for nz
flyinghaggis Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Mine's been dispatched so should have it tomorrow with any luck My only concern is how I'm going to download 35gb worth of forza5 on my 1.5 meg internet link. Gonna take about 3 days..... I really hope MS bundle a physical copy of the game and it isn't download only ? Edited November 21, 2013 by flyinghaggis
SYNACK Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Finished the update and have been playing, no physical copy of dirty FIFA for me and it was not in the box either so will be kicking the retailer, update took a while then said it had failed after the install stage but as I was reading the fail message it fixed itself anyway.
flyinghaggis Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Haven't see any forza day one edition unboxings to confirm but FIFA is just a digital code as you've said so I could have a long wait before I get to play it! FIFA's only 8.7gb which is reasonable but at 32gb forza5 is a pretty hefty download regardless on your internet connection speed. Edited November 21, 2013 by flyinghaggis
CAM Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Ryse Son of Rome Ryse: Son of Rome - How boring is it? (Xbox One Gameplay) - YouTube
SYNACK Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Even if it was on a disk you could have a long wait, cod ghosts is supposedly 15min but I have just wasted an hour and a half trying to install it because it needs a 1.something gig patch then it gives you no feedback as to what it is doing at all, it just stuck at 1% till - I think - the download finally finished then after five eject and reinserts it finally decided it would get past 1%. Still happy to have it and it is nice and quiet but they need to roll back the UI a bit so it gives you some useful information, they seem to have gone full apple on this one. Looking toward to finally playing a game on it before the day is over.

Guest Guest Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 A very happy xbox one day, to who? To me!
APMerry Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 They want to make it the hub of your living room.... It's very easy to watch tv through it but try inviting someone to your game. They've ruined my favourite party of the Xbox, the party's!

featured_spectre Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Anyone with an xbox one and an xbox 360...both having bf4. Can youbanswer this. Are ypu able to play bf4 on the 360, then the one, then the 360 and keep unlocks on multiplayer? *edit* My mum gave me the choice for my birthday instead of christmas of a ps4 or xb1 and an answer would help Edited November 25, 2013 by featured_spectre
CAM Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 If you play BF4 on the 360 then you do a one time stats transfer to the X1. I think a small fee of about a tenner is incurred but I'm not sure, that might be a discount platform upgrade from BF4 360 to BF4 X1. AFAIK you cannot go back and forth.
Sunnyknight Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 After reading a few problems with the release of the x1... I'm holding off for a lil while...
CAM Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 What?? You are fleeing to the X1 to escape Rawns?
Sunnyknight Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 God I can't escape that name lol.....and no...... lol... just want a clean machine!
featured_spectre Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks CAM. I wouldnt want to start from scratch. I think a test in toys r us is in order. Lol
PeggleStar Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I am really liking the xbox one so far, I got Forza 5 and it is a fantastic game and also played a bit of Powerstar Golf last night which is also great. I hope to get some more games for it around Christmas.
Fleetwood Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Well after two people in my town were beaten up (one knocked unconcious) and had their xboxes stolen, I'm glad I didn't bother (why they parked so far away from the town - at one of the more notorious areas in the town for crimes - is beyond me, though. As sympathetic as I am, they're a bit stupid for being that far away after midnight carrying two bloody obvious boxes with the print "XBOX ONE" all around - not exactly inconspicious, is it?) It seems there's very mixed reviews. Some are up in arms about how poor it is, some are 50/50, some are still wiping the brown off their noses. What's the real deal?! My brother made me laugh on the weekend about it though, "Yeah my mate has it and he said you can just say 'Xbox, ON' and it'll turn on!! :D"... kids, bless 'em. I think I'll be fine with hovering my finger over the power button or just pressing the button on my controller to turn my 360 on Edited November 25, 2013 by Fleetwood
