I think they are trying to justify that extra $100.

Would be better if they justified why we have to pay that extra for the kinect.

If they actually focused on doing that I think they would more easily persuaded the people on the fence to get an Xbox One

PS4 + Camera = Same price as Xbox One with Kinect 2

PS4 is still £30 cheaper even if you add the unnecessary camera...?

I'd hazard a daring guess that the attach rate of the PS4camera on day one will be less than 20%. Most people will save the £80 instead.

XBOXONE Wireless Controller charge kits are £20 each if you want to match up peripheral on pricing.

The whole price issue is still the same story with the 360 though isn't it? Last time I checked it was around £90 extra for the Kinect bundle console or just buying the sensor seperately..

and they will have the same problem Microsoft had with Kinect 1 at least by forcing everybody to have Kinect 2 it will lead to greater support for it in future games

I have Kinect 1 and I love the fact that I can talk to my console to find games its a natural next generation interface

I actually want a Kinect 2, as long as I can turn it of, voice red without a headset, no more entering your lived password on the big screen when at a friends, face rec sign plus smartglass will be epic and seamless for all sorts of gaming plus you have a real controller and a virtual environment running windows apps for non gaming. I know the PS4 is more games focused but the xb1 will offer all those little extras that would probably be a nightmare on ps4. I am not buying one at launch as I want to see how well they stick to their guns but I will almost certainly buy one a couple of months later.

thats all i can do with mine it seems designed for rooms that are bigger than my house and fifa14 thats a reason not to buy one imo

Thinking about it, it's a shame they've U-Turned the Kinect requirement. I would've gone out and bought the Xbox 180 just so everyone at Microsoft and GCHQ/NSA can watch me on the sofa playing the Playstation 4.

Seriously, why on earth are people still going to buy it after all these changes and uncertainties? I wouldn't trust this console/M$ with a 50ft barge pole now, because what's to stop them U-Turning again during retail.

like Sony with the ps3?, you don't need that feature, I prefer that they shake the bugs out before retail rather than after I've brought it.

Ill be buying an xbox one, policy changing on the whole is a good thing if its what people want

I do wish it was the same console as announced though as it genuinley was something new, it is now, but watered down

I have no brand allegience whatsoever, I dont actually understand why so many people get upset about a games console but the PS4 to me does seem like a PS3+

It is a completely different architecture. The PS3 was a triple core powerPC but the PS4 is an x86-64 so the PS4 is more like an xbox than a PS3.

The big benefit is that games will be much more portable between xbox and PS in the future.

Actually ps3 was worse then that. 8 core cell processor with core pretty much for the OS. The 7/8 lower power made it a lot hard to code for. Xbox 360 is triple core.

Should I get funds (no guarantee that I will), then I will be getting the Xbox One on release day, with BF4.

At least it may be in 1080p, it appears all but 1 game is upscaled on ps4 besides CoD which is a 1080p game. BF4 will be around 720 as well.

I was kind of taken aback at that announcement. I'm still gaming at 1080p on my four year old PC so surely a "next-gen" console, which on paper has at least equivalent specs to a modern mid-range PC, should be more than up to the task. And that's before you take into account all of the dedicated hardware and code optimization plus not needing to run a full desktop OS behind the scenes. It seems almost unbelievable that it wouldn't be capable of running a multi-platform game (which is also out on the PS3/360) at 1080p

It's going to be interesting to see how they compare to a PC when running stuff like Battlefield and COD?

Microsoft have just announced a day one edition bundled with Forza 5 instead of Fifa for anyone interested

I've changed mine to the above as I'd never have played Fifa but was planning on getting Forza on launch. Well chuffed they're offering it as an alternative as it'll save me £45 :D
