I

I liked AC3, but rage-quit at "Chase Charles Lee"... that mission is hard to 100%.

I realised early on in Brotherhood (I think it was) that chasing 100% only ever ends in tears and misery!

IIRC, AC4 is like AC3.

Don't put me off now, I'm just starting to look forward to it! Actually I heard they are going back to the more stealth and planned assassinations of the earlier games rather than the button bashing bloodfest that was AC:III. I'm hoping the side missions are bit more clear and structured as I really didn't like doing any of them in AC:III.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Square Enix remake of Thief ;)

I've managed it fine since AC:2[?]... This mission is broken.

I'm waiting for HL2:Ep 3/HL3....Will be using a quantum atomic core CPU when that bad boy comes out...

Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim combined have sucked close to 2000 hours of my life over all 3 games.

A worthy waste of time IMO. :)

I doubt it, by the time HL3/Ep.3 comes out "it's all rendered in the cloud" will be a legitimate claim.

If you enjoy it, you're not wasting time.

And every entertainment system will have to be called "Xbox" along the same line as every restaurant was 'Taco Bell' in Demolition Man? :D

Maybe it will be so far in the future, it will be played on a holo-deck.

Does that mean I won't be able to play it using my favourite game pad whilest laying back on my sofa? I thought Kinect was too energetic - sod that!

then surely games should be cheaper on the xbox than ps4?

That's a great joke, do you do tours?

OT: Maybe I'm being a grumpy barsteward, but I just prefer to have the peace of mind that when I buy a physical copy of a game, I -own- that game. Surely if the digital system relies solely on the cloud/servers, once those servers go down (they did it with the Xbox On-- original, bloody crap naming M$!, they'll inevitably do the same with the 360 down the line.) - those games, and that console, will become nothing. It'll just be a black box that sits there and flashes some cool lights, you won't be able to play the games anymore. Oh, unless you perhaps get offered to locally store allllllll the games you've acquired during the time using it, which will no doubt take you until your death to download and require a WD warehouse to store them all. I dunno, to me it just seems more of a -rented- service. You're renting the games, being able to play them until that service you're renting from is no longer accessible. You're not buying them and calling them your own if you want the digital solution M$ were proposing.

Whereas me, I can still get out my Sega Genesis collection and play all the games until my arse falls off and require more botox than Anne Robinson. Or the atari jagua-- scratch that, less said about that one the better :)

thats what you get when you do a crap job of explaining things and all anyone hears is no lending games. And if owners have to put up with anti copying measures then surely games should be cheaper on the xbox than ps4?

The way I saw it [and still do, actually] is that everyone objected to the BS DRM, and ONLY the BS DRM. Microsoft, refusing to stop being anti-consumer, stripped it out along with a lot of things it wasn't tied to.

I've seen the argument made that the DRM was needed for selling digital games [which was never a thing anyway], but that could have been implemented by needing to be online to sell games.

The licence goes into storage [so you can't just keep playing it offline] and is posted on a user marketplace.

Family sharing is another thing people want, but I doubt it was going to work how they think it will. There's a lot of rumours it was only a demo version being shared. Plus the fact that, after killing the used game market for XBone, Publishers weren't then going to allow 9 free copies of a game to be shared out for every 1 sold.

Also, thanks to that Ars article, I've FINALLY heard a semi-decent reason for the "no disk switching". [quickly switching to multiplayer games based on what your friends are playing]

Actually when you adjust for inflation current games prices are the cheapest they have ever been!

Why retail console games have never been cheaper, historically | Ars Technica

possibble but the £60 a game is too rich for my blood i object to £40 now. If a game is effectively locked to one user making it much much harder to copy then surely the "subsidy" that legitimate buyers make should be reduced as they should be copied less

The problem isn't the price, it is the excessive number of broken promises and release flops that make paying full price for a title not worth the experience that you get. Games are now published incomplete, charged with an "impatience tax" to capture the initial heavy flow of users and they are rewarded with a rubbish experience as servers crash and giant patches get released to patch gaping holes. Wait for a title to drop and it has likely stabilised and been patched.

Please tell me the last time you played an MMO on release day (this includes those cheeky "Open Beta" days before a token release date by name only) and were able to actually play without hassle?

Then you find out that after paying a high entry price, some publishers STILL want more money from you with a cash shop or transition it to free. I've been burned too many times on these (yes that includes STO which I paid for shortly after release pre-F2P). -.-
