I found an cira 1990 Toshiba laptop a while ago while doing a clearout of a storeroom, its all original complete with case manuals the loot I don't rekon it was ever used. I booted it and it has that old red dos screen if any of you are old enough to remember that.

I've still got one of those at home! As far as I know, it still works. That was the first computer I ever used properly - had an old tape based Atari 800 for games before that, but the ST was my first experience of word processors. 1 ST Word - what crap that was really!

At my previous school I found an old Tandy laptop computer, It still worked, couldn't work out how to use it thou as it had it's own operating system on it. There was also an old IBM 386 laptop, and several old RM laptops all looked as if they're never been used properly. Seemed a shame to throw them out, but what more can you do with them.

Somewhere I still have a toshiba 386 sx 25 laptop. I used it for network diagnostic and email until about 3 yrs ago - not bad for something with a 100MB HDD and a cut-down slackware. now the school is binning 4-5yr old laptops because the ms/sims cartel requires it.

I say leave the Atari out and see how many of the kids actually know what it is, I did this with an Acorn computer and the number that were Sir is this the next version of Windows after Vista, that was scary I know for the time Acorns were good but I do have to say I prefer Vista over RISC OS

Indeed it was!

So keep your old Atari & long live the evergreen Amiga!, (currently running as WinUAE on Windows or Monkey Island/Flight of the amazon queen/Beneath a steal sky running under ScummVM on my N95 :D )
