I thought this could be a good bit of fun and is based on a very long running thread on another forum I frequent where a member would show a tiny piece of an aircraft picture and members have to guess what it is.

As we have people here over many age and experience ranges it could be a bit of fun.

There are no prizes, just the smug satisfaction of knowing your 'stuff'.

You are allowed to give clues if people are struggling to guess but if no one has got it after about a day then feel free to put people out of their misery by showing the entire item and telling everyone.

I'll kick you all off with this:

Is it a Boeing 747?

No, although at the time it probably cost as much as one. I'll give you a clue and say it was a very popular card when released.

I reckon that's a Sound Blaster Awe32 :D

Nice work, it is indeed a Sound Blaster AWE32 and the first expansion card I ever got my hands on. With an ISA socket it was often a pig to get Windows to properly recognise it!

Indeed a great card, instantly recognisable by the dual SIMM sockets :) Don't recall using it that much in windows although IRQ, Port and DMA settings ring bells ;)

And yeah, the model number did give it away, but the NM pointed out a reverse image search was easy :)

Something to do with sound, internet, and printing?

Is it a fax machine?
