3 days left until school is back and wondered what things people have got left to do?
I have
- 40 laptops to rebuild (CC3 and its annoying SP3 update!!)
- ceiling mount 2 projectors and whiteboards
- install software handed to me on exam day
- move 2 printers between buildings
- replace a stolen PC for the cover manager
Oh and paint a wall before I can put up one of the whiteboards....... DONT ASK!!!!
And to top it all off I have CBA syndrom setting in......Not good at all lol

1. Install something on the Bursar's new PC for Teacher's Pensions
2. Threaten printers in IT Suite
3. Staff password resets (I might as well plan for them)
4. Create a few new pupil accounts
5. Thump printers in IT Suite
6. Staff password resets
7. Do the How to login/e-Safety/ Data Protection thing with a new teacher
8. Throw IT Suite Printers out of window
9. Staff password resets
10. About a billion other things that the other staff failed to put on the list of holiday jobs for me, all of which are needed by Monday and none of which are currently on my list.
11. Remember there's no budget to replace IT Suite printers
12. Password resets
Dang!!! Thanks for reminding I totally forgot about the new users etc... now that would have been fun on the 1st day back lol
Oh and snap! No budget (which I am use to as I didnt have one last year either) so I have to magic a new PC from thin air!
Clean up the HP packaging from the new IT suite, and all the junk equipment I've accumulated. Gonna need a bigger skip!

Purchase 4 mini GBIC modules
Install said modules
Phone BT and complain that we are still getting stupidly slow internets!
Build 3 new Admin PC's including all sims/fms/sco software, plus door monitoring software
Setup 48 netbooks
push out image to second ICT suite and install software packages
create new user accounts
setup new user accounts since recreated new user GPO's, moving to shared desktop setup
Setup 6 new teacher laptops
Install a new projector
install 2 new VI screens
recable 4 classrooms
install visualiser software on 20 laptops
rebuild the nursery PC
Install 7 new software packages to the entire network
Redistribute all the shared areas to newly created sensible layout
Workout why my NAS won't auto reconnect properly to the main server when server is rebooted.
Find time to recoup the 11 days of overtime they owe me already...

Don't forget to read my suggestions.

Set up 4 new computers, rename staff accounts of those who have married and complete a minor website update. Not sure I'll get it all done before next Tuesday![]()

I'm quite pleased with how I've getten through my summer jobs. I have about 10 computers left to build, then walk around and turn everything on so every computer picks up the hotfixes (and SP3) that I've installed over summer. Couple of 5 minutes odd-jobs here and there, and then I think I'll take a look at the website/moodle/backup schema/esxi and do minor updates/make sure everything is working properly.
Hoping to put in a holiday on Friday as well as I'm heading over to the lakes with the tent and the missus.![]()
3 laptops left to build and RM's CC3SP3 update has not helped either!!!
My business manager has just treated me to the biggest cream filled lemon bun i have seen in years!! She even made me a coffee to go with it
Nice to know my efforts have been rewarded (yes I am easy to please lol)
Ceiling Mounted Whiteboards? Is this a new thing? lol ..
For me, I've got to go round and tidy up bits, put back together a classroom that was out of bounds due to a broken hot water pipe bringing down some previously examined and deemed to be safe Asbestos Panels so that area needed a full clear up (fun).
Then I've got new staff laptops to image (and indeed older staff laptops to create images for)
Then arrange for an ethical company to come and collect all the old machines at somepoint very soon (preferable before the IT and Art Teachers kill me .. lol)
Just running round upgrading all staff PCs to 1GB of RAM today, going to make a huge difference to SIMS use, the computers are well up to it otherwise.
I got a phone call on sunday asking if I'd come in over the weekend and change the projector bulb. I said no, it was half way through the day and I had plans and a dinner to goto...
I came in yesterday to find someone's son came in and went up the 20ft ladder and did it instead....
I'd complain about it, but since the person who arranged it was the head, I think it might be a lost cause!
