Has anyone used Smoothwall to allow through a Vimeo on Demand video? Our English Dept want to pay for a video that is behind the Vimeo VOD Service and we are not sure how to allow this through the Smoothwall.

Where are you based please and are you Secondary?

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread but I just tried to use [email protected] to ask for a key to be added but the email bounced back. I have used it before last year and it worked fine then. Does anyone know the correct email address now for these requests?

Just spent 45 minutes on the phone to Google Support as we had a folder in a shared drive with disappearing sub folders and files. I got onto a Google Meet and did a screen share with the rep and showed them the issue. First thing I was told was that this is a known issue which has been resolved and clearing browsing cache would fix it for me. It didnt!! Then I was asked to create a new folder and when the files/sub folders where showing to move them to the new folder. I did this on the screen share and all the files/sub folders disappeared, not in the old folder and not in the new!! I was then told that the user had deleted the files and sub folders but clearly they hadnt! Finished the call with no real resolution. Very frustrating!!!

Any schools in the London area that use a Cloud MIS?

I am looking to see what the predominant version is in Google schools. We are currently using Fundamentals and I was looking at Education Standard and wondering if the extra security tools are worth the investment?

As the title suggests we are hoping to visit Secondary schools in West London or close vicinity that have moved from SIMS to a Cloud based MIS. We will be arranging demos from Arbor, Bromcom, Juniper and a few others but wanted to get real life experiences from Schools already moved across to a cloud based MIS. Will give that a go but the strange thing is that is has worked this way for many years and Vimeo has remained blocked but suddenly isn’t anymore. I have raised a ticket with smoothwall for someone to take a look for us.

Our firewall is controlled by our ISP and they have confirmed that QUIC is blocked.

We have the QUIC Content modification policy enabled and always have done.

I was on the phone with Biostore support yesterday whilst the engineer was remoting onto our tills. He mentioned that we seemed to be on quite an old version of Fastrak and we needed to upgrade but that upgrades were now chargeable!! We pay a yearly licence and maintenance fee but apparently upgrades are not included anymore. I guess since IRIS took over! Anyone else using Biostore that was aware of this?

For a long time now we have blocked access to Vimeo but allowed access to specific videos by setting up Smoothwall according to these instructions https://kb.smoothwall.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002033410-Allowing-Access-to-View-Embedded-Vimeo-Videos In the past few days I noticed that staff and students can access vimeo.com without getting blocked. Nothing has changed in the policy so I am not sure why staff and students can suddenly get to vimeo.

Our HT has said straight no for streaming games but he said he may reconsider for the later stages of the tournament.

I'm after a decent Video Doorbell, Ring or Blink come to mind. I guess both will be cheapest on Amazon as both are owned by them!

We still use keys for all doors and the site team look after the issuing and retrieval from staff. Not really under the IT remit.
