  1. @timbo343 - did you go with Syscloud in the end? If so how is it working out for you?
  2. Has anyone found that users still need to press CTRL F5 even after this fix and also clearing the browser cache?
  3. no I didn't as I was hoping for a reply first @ibpalle ?
  4. So removing the adverts content modification policy will that then mean adverts will start showing before and during videos played in class?
  5. @ibpalle Sorry to jump in on this but just checked my SYN backlog queue size and it is set to 8192. Do you recommend an increase?
  6. Meet the couple who live with a 6ft dalek https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/meet-couple-who-live-6ft-5045233
  7. Salamander keeps the group name the same ie "[email protected]". Membership changes based on who teachers the student in SIMS. The Display name changes as the student moves up a year group. So the display name in Year 7 would be "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 7F" and then would change in Year 8 to "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 8F". The underlying name of the group(actual email address) stays the same ie "[email protected]" no matter which year the student moves into.
  8. @Bankesy when you first log into the Admin Console go to Account>Account Settings and scroll to the bottom. There you should see "Age-based access settings", click on this and it should take you the page where you set age based restrictions. Your domain should really have an OU structure to seperate out Staff and Student accounts so that you can put different permissions in place. How are you differentiating between student and staff permissions in the Google Admin console at the moment?
  9. Thanks for this. We will give the commands a go but we have already been through the users contacts list and the "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 7F" is not in there. We do use GCDS and we do have the displayName attribute populated as Salamander does this for us.
  10. We have Salamander creating "Teachers of student" groups for us but we have come across an anomoly that Salamander cannot help us with. For example, last year we had a group called "[email protected]" and the display name for this group was "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 7F". I emailed this group last year and all was fine. This year I need to email the group again but now Joe Bloggs is in 8F but for me the group still shows with a display name of "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 7F" in the auto fill. For someone else who has not emailed the group before the display name appears correctly as "Teachers of Joe Bloggs 8F". Initially I thought this was due to the contacts list keeping the old name but we have been through the contacts list and removed old names from there but the old name still appears in the auto fill. The Salamander Tech has said there is a setting somewhere in Google for this but he couldnt remember where. I am about to raise this with Google Support but thought I would ask here first.
  11. That would still be a pain when students can use any number of different computers in school and any number of different Chromebooks.
  12. Is there an equivalent of conditional MFA rules for Google as there is for Microsoft?
  13. If you are getting the Age restriction have you checked in your Google Admin Console whether the OU where the Administrator account is actually has the correct age group allocated? The correct option for this should be "All users in this group or org unit are 18 or older". Any OUs with students in should be "Some or all users in this group or org unit are under 18" Hope that helps
  14. Could be the same issue reported in this thread. We still have no solution from Google http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/229275-google-workspace-shared-drive-folders-missing-view.html and this one http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/229125-google-drive-files-folders-randomly-dissapear-re-appear.html
  15. I didnt see this reply before I managed to get access by connecting via the Ruckus unleashed AP I had set up with a laptop and navigating to the Smoothwall console. I removed the authorised radius client and rebooted the smoothwall. Access to the console and internet are now restored. I am guessing the new authorised radius client took precendence over the existing one that had pointed to the Zone Director even though the Zone Director IP was first in the list in Smoothwall.
  16. Not sure if it’s related but once I put the radius client in the smoothwall I have now lost access to the smoothwall console and access to the internet! Currently have a ticket open with smoothwall to get access back.
  17. That's great, thanks! Then in the Ruckus under 'Authorised Radius Clients' do I put the IP address of this AP? If so what happens when this AP is no longer the master or is no longer online for any reason?
  18. Under system there is IP Settings but no Network Settings. Do you mean in there?
  19. I am not sure where that setting is found.
  20. For a long time now we have had a Ruckus Zone Director and Smoothwall set up where Ruckus does the authentication against AD and we have the Smoothwall doing the accounting. In the Smoothwall we have an authorised radius client pointing to the IP of the Ruckus Zone Director. This all works fine but now I am experimenting with Ruckus unleashed but I am trying to replicate the current setup. I have no idea what to point the authorised radius client to in Smoothwall as we won't have a Zone Director. Does anyone have any guidance on how to approach this?
  21. We use https://www.squidcard.com/ for all our lunch payments and for other payments such as trips and materials. We have been with them for just under 10 years, no real complaints.
  22. I souppose there was no point dragon it out.
  23. Couldn't he have pulled some strings to get his job back?
  24. In Admin Panel > Devices>Chrome>Devices There is a new option called "Upgrades" - should be in there, it is for us.
  25. Apparently Aruba recommend the Aruba CX 6000 48G CL4 4SFP Switch as the replacement for the 2530 48 port POE. https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/support/EOS_2530-Gigabit-24-48-port-Switches.pdf edit: beaten to it!!
