Exchange 2010, External Email and Distribution Group issue
sukh replied to mweller's topic in Enterprise Software
So its just the Google contact in the DG which doesnt get it? Does the message leave your Org? -
you can install the latest RU alone, that will be fine. As fir the CRL its a pain, either make sure your exch has an internet connection or disabled the check for crl under IE options.

Exchange 2010, External Email and Distribution Group issue
sukh replied to mweller's topic in Enterprise Software
Try setting the below for the DL. Set-DistributionGroup "Distribution Group Name" -ReportToManagerEnabled $true Set-DistributionGroup "Distribution Group Name" -ReportToOriginatorEnabled $true -
Do the read the "Read Me" notes as there are a few recommendation in there to set the execution polict otherwise Exch will break and you will have to recover Exch. Also, if you have multiple AD sites, start off with the internet facing site 1st, and start with the CAS roles 1st then the others. You can backup the schema but I dont think you will roll that back, and I have never seen Exch schema update only ruin AD.

Outlook, sharing calendars; do we need an Exchange server for this?
sukh replied to BatchFile's topic in How do you do....it?
No, you will need Exchange or 3rd party tools to do this. -
You will have to go through the GPO's manually or do a gpreseults or resultant set of poicy.
-
+1 to either option above.

Seems like OAB or Autodiscover URL/Web services aren't configured. Do the below and check the URL's and logs, PM me the results or post 1.Start Outlook. 2.Hold down the Ctrl key, right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area, and then click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. 3.Verify that the correct email address is in the E-mail Address box. 4.In the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration window, click to clear the Use Guessmart check box and the Secure Guessmart Authentication check box. 5.Click to select the Use AutoDiscover check box, and then click Test. Make sure that this test is successful and that Outlook can retrieve the correct URLs for the Availability service

Exchange mail server authentication problem
sukh replied to smurfomatic's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
I'd advise you to do it yourself. You can either have the built in spam/av agents on the Exch server enabled or use a 3rd party product. FPE 2010 isn't available now for purchase. Creating a Send Connector is simply easy and just configure it to use internal DNS lookups for MX resolution. Just make sure your AD DNS works. -
Have to wait for RU to be released. Or if you can't wait go to Exch 2010 SP2.

Is the samaccountname and alias the same?
-
Has it set the attribute on the mailbox? Is it a case of waiting fir OAB to be update on clinets?
-
they can setup the dl so you can add/remove users to it. I assume they are all internal users?
-
If they are providing you with a service, then they should do this,;it only takes a few minutes to setup a DL.

Do you have any email service setup or being provided to you?
-
Exchange server or 0365. Really depends on what you have deployed already?

Connection between Office 365 and Outlook dropping out
sukh replied to dezt's topic in Cloud Services
It seems like it may be a keep alive setting or something similar I have seen with Exch 2007. The netmon may show you if the connection is being terminated or dropped. -

If you have a copy of the Outlook logging and can share with me then PM. -
Connection between Office 365 and Outlook dropping out
sukh replied to dezt's topic in Cloud Services
Can you take a netmon capture in addition to the outlook logging. If the internet connection is out of your remit then there isn;t much you can do there. What about any proxy you have, or is that all provided by someone else? -
You mean spoof internal users email addresses? You can use SPF records for that.

What sort of an internet connection do you have? Can you monitor the internet link? For any packet loss? -

Did you create all the appropioate records? It seems like the SRV for autodiscover worked? Did you a CNAME for autodiscover? External DNS Records Use a CNAME Record to Enable Outlook to Connect -
Then use the shutdown as an option, show the gui & set a timer Shutdown - Shutdown the computer | SS64.com
