I believe we do have SA accounts but will double check. Thankyou. Luckily I've got our Sims Support people who are going to come in and transfer the Sims VM's and setup the multi Sims access. Im going to be be busy enough so glad they are doing that.

Hi everyone, Ok, so heres a quick summary of how our setup currently exists: Two schools next to each other running their own networks with a physical server at each site. I can access both networks and they share the same internet connection. There are rules setup on the router to allow this. Each schools server has one VM running Sims. Im going to be setting up our new domain server in the coming weeks which will replace both servers and make one main network accross the two schools. My first step is to setup the server and I'l be running the domain controller as a VM in HyperV. There will be two additional VM's on that server that will run Sims. Users will be able to pick which Sims (Infants or Juniors) to connect to when they open Sims. The plan is to get the server setup and on a test network to test out logins, GPO's, etc. I now need to do the network transition in stages. How does this sound? 1. Get our two Sims VM's transferred to the new server VM's. 2. Reset the network switches to default settings to set correct ip range / set ip's on printers, phones etc. 3. Disable the current Juniors domain controller and introduce the new server which will be located in the Junior school. 4. Get all computers in the Juniors connected to the new domain. 5. Disable the Infants domain controller. 7. Get all computers in the Infants connected to the new domain. 8. Test everything. 9. Book a holiday somewhere miles away from any I.T where there will be sunshine due to spending most of the summer in a server room. Any pointers / things I've forgotten? Many thanks for your help.

Got this pic a few years back of the 225 coming into East Midlands. On anther note, such a shame that Vulcan XH558 was retired to Doncaster. Its more or less useless there. Would have been much better off at Bruntingthorpe for fast taxi.

It flew over Bristol and up to Derby where it went over the RR factory. I'm hoping we get another visit of the Antonov 225 which comes into EMA every few years.

Loved the A380 but see why its heading the way it is. Beautiful plane and so quiet inside. Got the chance to go upfront and tour the plane when it first came out and will always remember that. One of my fave aircraft alongside the Vulcan, Concorde, and the 747. Am now hoping Boom Supersonic crack on with their new plane which is looking good.

I'd really be tempted to backup your files and re-image the machine. Sounds like dhcp is broken somewhere. It isnt worth spending any more time on it.

Have you checked IPV4 properties are set to Automatic? Is there any anti-virus/firewall software like Mcafee or similar on there? Check in services.msc that DHCP client is started.

Can you delete the adapter and re-install it.

We used to use a Green Screen App that has since become a paid for version. Does anyone know or recommend a good free app for iPads that will do Green Screen filming? Many thanks.

With Photoshop (in my opinion) you don't need the latest version. Its all down to creativity and what you can come up with.

Thought I'd share this with you all as we are finding it great as a replacement for Photoshop and it is free. https://www.photopea.com/ No need to install it as it runs in any web browser and will let you save in multiple image formats and also PSD. Great piece of software.

I would say that statement covers you fine for filming material for school website, etc. I would definitely check the school have insurance that covers drone operation. You wouldn't want to land into issues if it falls out the sky and sends a student to hospital.

Do you have a Sims support plan? The company we are with have said they can come and in and do it all for us. At a fee ofcourse. But I am too busy to be dealing with Database backup and transfers so they can do it.

So the dreaded word "Ofsted Inspection" is flying round the school and the teachers are ̶p̶a̶n̶i̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ preparing for the day they show up. From a Network Manager's point of view what would you say your responsabilities are during and preparing for Ofsted? I've made sure our policies and DFE related content is all updated on our website, tidied up a few links, checked our security and backup, etc. I'm guessing they may ask about GDPR compliance. A packet of biscuits would be thrown right back at you if you got me those. Spending my evening sorting out your virus'd up Laptop and recovering all your files is not worth a packet of bicuits. If I decide and it is a big IF, then it will be £25 per hour, Thankyou.

This is why we havea policy for not bringing in your own equipment. You would be supporting every product by every manufacturer under the sun otherwise. Make your job easier, not harder. If it is the end of term and I have a little spare time (rarely happens) I will take a look on the odd occasion to help someone out. But the problem you get is it is often more complex and they expect you to repair it for free. (Same issue with family, friends, etc) and I dont have time. One teacher actually had the balls to say I could take her computer home and fix it there instead. I have a life too.
