We have a lease agreement on a minibus.

Since the interface upgrade it seems a bit laggy refreshig mail.

We delete all mail after 3 years.

Cost is very much an issue so Im going for the one server. VM's will mean I can quickly bring them back up if needed. It is the CALs that Im wondering about and how much that will influence the cost. I have cloud backup sollutions already in place and all hardware /switches, etc already setup.

So I'm going to be replacing our ageing servers. We have two, one at each of our schools. Juniors and Infants. Both sites are linked. Having lots of users using both sites I have decided to ditch the two networks and instead create one network. I'm looking at a new Dell server that will run Server 2019 Standard, using the two included HyperV licenses to run virtual Domain controller and Juniors Sims server. I'll then need another virtual server running the Infants Sims. (Do I need another copy of Win Server 2019 or only additional license?) Im looking at about 64GB Ram. We have about 100 devices so Im assuming Im going to need CALS. Im getting quotes but could someone give me an idea of what prices Im looking at? Many thanks.

Give the password to the teacher so only the teacher can connect up the iPad and the stiudent then won't be able to connect.

Thankgoodness it was only Laser Projectors. You got lucky. Maybe go home on the grounds of extreme stress caused by this incident.

VNC Viewer is what we are using. Install the software on the host machine and then the app on to the iPad. It seems to be working for us. Then just remember to turn off the interaction part so the student cant control the screen.

Do the maths and once you add FMS into the mix too you'll soon be staying onsite than hosted. Otherwise see those pounds flying out the window.

Can you get to diskpart and clean and clear partitions, make a new active partition and start again. Sometimes the machine name is still remembered and can cause problems.

Hi, Im in desperation as Capita have been as useful as a chocolate teapot in helping me. Does anyone use Dinner money in Sims? Ive recently added it and it appears in Sims. When I select Reports, Dinner Money, Statitics, Dinner Numbers by Week I get an error saying "Missing Pupil meal Definitions". Anyone know where I go from there? Any help would be much appreciated. In that case setup a Pc somewhere in your building that is always on and load with Sims and TeamViewer. Then use TeamViewer to access that machine.

Plus youl need to buy licenses.

How big is the SQL server? If less than 10GB you could use Express for free? Id definately go for a new server but then make the Sims server virtual. So much easier to backup and restore from if anything goes wrong.

Hi, I got myself an LED floodlight (50Watts) and want to put it up overlooking my garden. I dont want to wire it up to the mains so my plan is to wire it and put it through a gap in the house wall and plug it in to a normal socket. If a user is already created as solely a user then when you click on Personnel and type their surname it should find that user as they already exist, (just as a user and not in personnel). Sims can then pull the two together. A User who just needs access to Sims but arent employed by the school can be created just as users. Users who are staff and also Sims users should be setup through Personnel where youll need to specify atleast the name, DOB, and an employment start date.

Issue is partly sorted. Ive removed the apps I dont want by adding them to the block list. Its just the issue of stopping users from messing with settings in the iPads "Settings" that I need to stop. Ive ticked all the restrictions but theyve not applied. Might try removing and re-applying the restrictions.

Hi to all of you that use Mosyle Manager. Great bit of kit but got a question... I have setup my iPads to be managed by Mosyle Manager and can push my apps out to them but the restriction profile that I setup in Mosyle doesnt seem to be applied. It is listed in the Profiles section on the iPads though. I had removed access to certain apps, disabled access to settings, lots of restrictions etc iPads are in Supoervised mode so al those restrictions should work. Is there something I've missed? Do I need to also create a restrictions profile in Apple Configurator2? I thought not? Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou.
