I'm looking at the quickest way to deploy Windows 11, join to domain, install our selection of apps, set wallpaper, Wifi network, customise Taskbar, etc. Something that I can setup and then when I need to setup laptops I can just boot from USB or something. What do you recommend? Thanks all.

CubeBackup is very cheap and Shared Drives are free. I'm tempted by them. I do have a synology NAS but would need a lot more HD space than we currently have.

Hi, We are looking at our options for backing up our GSuite envionment, mostly users (Email and GoogleDrive) and our shared Drives. Costs seem to vary quite a lot. I've looked at options from several places like Druva to CubeBackup. Prices are very different from nearly £2000 for 40 users to under £100 for the same and no data limit. What do you all use?

We've actually found them to last really well. We have some that are about 8 years old now and still working fine. It was the back light that had gone on ours. Engineer came really quickly and we had a replacement in place whilst they fixed ours.

So this week has been National Pie Week. I do love a good pie, especially when eating it in a good country pub. What is your favourite filling? Mine has to be Steak and Ale. There is a group of people who go under the name of phantom planters who will actively encourage everyone to go out and plant a tree. It could be a small oak tree from an acorn, fruit trees, some flowers, etc. They are known as "Phantom planters" as they do it when no one else is around. So trees appear as if by magic. Maybe one day you may find a lovely set of daffodils have been planted too. In this day where so much countryside and open space is being built on and taken away I think it is a wonderful idea. Some of the great benefits of planting a tree: - It helps you to survive! Takes away carbon and produces oxygen! - Prevents floods and shifting ground as the roots help to hold soil together and absorb rain water. - Fruit trees will give good crops. In these times when every penny counts we should encourage growing our own foods. - Trees provide nesting and homes for many types of wildlife as well as food sources. Now technically I must point out you would have to contact your local council for permission in planting on public land however this can take a lot of time and due to many silly laws will probably never give you the goahead. Just be sensible about it..... Such as making sure that any fruit from trees didnt fall near a footpath or avoiding planting near power lines, etc. I have already planted two apple trees around where I live. I will regularly go and maintain them too. So, I encourage you all to go and plant a tree.

Where will the money come from to pay these children and what skills will be required? Have you undertaken a risk asessment? Will you be training each child in working at height, electrical safety, manual handling, and fire prevention?

Hate the things. I know some people like them but I've never got on with them. Good idea for making use of one cable but I'd like to keep it a 1Gig if I can. Reason to seperating the NVR is that it is a Hikvision NVR and I dont want any backdoors into my network. I think I do have a spare VLAN aware switch so this could indeed be the only way of doing it I think. Thankyou.

Hi all, I wondered if you could give me your opinions on my home network setup. (Please see diagram below). At the moment I have my router connected to the ISP's modem/router and have got ports 1-3 configured as my "Home" network. Port 4 is configured as a seperate isolated network which has a cat6 ethernet cable heading off upstairs to where the NVR is located in my new comms cabinet. This is the only cable that heads off to the up stairs and I can't get another one up there. I have a Wifi AP connected to my "Home" network and this also has it's own "Guest" network switched on for Wif guests and Wifi IOT devices. The problem I'm trying to solve is I would like to move my NAS up into the cabinet upstairs but the connection upstairs is only on the isolated network. Even if I put a switch up there it would mean the NAS and NVR are talking to each other so not secure. Can anyone offer a solution or idea I could implement to make things better? Many thanks.
