  1. Yes, our two schools went down. All back up again now.
  2. Thankyou everyone. Some real positive comments there. I think I will be definately looking at this in the coming months.
  3. Hi everyone, So we've been with Tel Group for a while and thinking of moving away. We've got Yealink phones on site. I'm hearing many people tlak about the how great 3CX is. How does it work, is it easy to setup? Would you recommend? Thankyou.
  4. I showed the videos from the NCSC powerpoint you can download and then tailored it to what we have happening in our school. Did a question and answer sort of presentation and tried to make these things they hear in the news apply to more local and how it affects us and could at any time.
  5. Thankyou everyone, It's a device that is connected to the wifi so would have needed to have had the password added at some point. So I can see the IP address showing up in Adavanced IP scanner as active and confirmed that by blocking it in UnifiOS. So I have the IP and Mac address. As has been pointed out, it doesnt help that all our iPads have Private Mac address switched on so that might put a problem into the mix. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if I can find out anymore.
  6. That's great. Thankyou. I've now seen it's connected to our EAST Wifi access point so starting to narrow it down and look at Apple devices in that area.
  7. Good idea blocking the Mac address. Did a vendor look up on the MAC address and it is an Apple device. Can Advanced IP scanner get confused and have given it the wrong name? As I do not have any Macs as a hall laptop. Thankyou.
  8. Hi all, So we arer a small primary school and our netsweeper report showed a machine where someone has been accessing porn and vaping sites. So I have the IP of the machine involved and put it into Advanced IP Scanner and it's shown me a machine name with that IP address. I can't seem to find that machine anywhere and it could be anywhere over the school. It is not in a small VLAN which would make it easier to find. I have the MAC address associated with the IP when I looked it up. Netsweeper's Internet logs for that IP seems to point to a lot of icloud and apple servers so I'm thinking possibly a Mac. AdvanceIP Scanner has given it a name as in jun-lt-hall which would indicate a laptop in the hall but I cant find a laptop with that name at the moment. Anything else I could do to try and find it? Thankyou.
  9. Thanks everyone. Will check all those out.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions so far. We primarily use Powerpoint and Windows so definately need the PC module.
  11. Hi all, We need to start replacing our aging Prowise touchscreen TV's with built in PC module. I'm after something similar, touch screen, 75", with a PC module builtin. (Standard spec for a classroom system, Windows, 8-16GB RAM, SSD). What would you all recommend? Many thanks.
  12. Thanks everyone, I've just ordered some Keystone Jacks.
  13. Not to forget the strange things that fall on to your head when you take down the ceiling tiles! Dead mouse anyone?
  14. Morning all, As part of my job I obviously need to run cables and then terminate them. This is the most anonying part of my job. I find it fidly, can never get it right first time, and its a pain in the ass. Do you have any tips or tools that you use that you find just works for you? I find it so fidly getting all the wires sorted, fed through, and then keeping them in the right order. What do you use and works best for you when terminating ethernet cables? thankyou.
  15. Does anyone here report songs and hymns you have used to the CCLI?
  16. I looked into this. We have and are covered by a PRS and PPL license. This is purchased by the DFE for all state schools and academies in the UK. This allows us to play any music in classrooms, PE lessons, assemblies, carol concerts, school performances. We are not allowed to use music from musicals, for example if putting on a performance of Matilda. If we want to put on a musical show or use songs from a musical / or play then we need to buy the music performance rights beforehand.
  17. They are going to be charging for it as of the end of the year.
  18. We got rid of ours. Back in the day you had to go to the "computer room". Now all our laptops and iPads etc get taken to the classrooms and wheeled around the school. You don't need a fixed location any more.
  19. Hi everyone, We used to use Skedda for booking out iPads, projectors, etc but can no longer use this. We ar elooking for a free booking system. We only have about 10 resources or less for booking out. Ideally so users can login with their Google email addresses would be good. What do you all use? Thankyou.
  20. Anyone had their Microbits turn up? We've just received ours today. Great stuff.
  21. Thankyou everyone. I will check those out.
  22. Hi everyone, Looking at getting a class set of Chromebooks. Wondered what you all recommend. Thankyou.
  23. Hi, Thanks for your replies. I am indeed on Schools Broadband.
  24. Hi all, Netsweeper is flagging up various versions of this http://11.tlu.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice on a daily basis. Anyone else get this or know what it is? Thankyou.
  25. Hi everyone, If we play music in asembly and project the words on the screen then what sort of license do we need? We will also play music in end of term shows or in classrooms. We sometimes also play youtube music or videos. Would this be covered too? What do you use? PRS, CCLI ? none? Many thanks for your help.
