Hi all, We are a primary school with a sports hall that is also used for our end of term shows, Christmas nativity, and music performances. It measures 20 metres long by 18 metres wide. The Stage is a small removable thing that measures approx 7 metres by 3 metres. Up until now we have been using an old set of theatre par can lights that are heavy, get very hot, and not in the best of condition. They are on a T bar at the back of the hall and connected to a small DMX controller. Now I'd like to get some new lights and preferably go down the LED route. A kit that can be easily put away and stored is key here as the hall is a sports hall. I've been shown these: https://prolight.co.uk/product/gigabar-mkii-4-x-30w-rgb-cob-bar-system Would these do? Would they need to be at the front nearer the stage or are they long range and can be positioned at the back like my previous lights? What do you use and recommend for a setup that can be easily packed away after use and provides adequate lighting? Many thanks.

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?
Sonic007 replied to Ditto's topic in General Chat
- We've stopped paying for the children's school meals and now make packed lunches. It's a bit of time to do each morning but is saving us money. They didnt like the school meals anyway! - Repaired windows and put draught excluders at the bottom of our front and back doors. - Using more vegetables than meats. Chick peas are popular in our house right now. -
I think you should definately get round ones.

Saw them live and they were amazing! Grew up listening to Faithless and have good memories of Ice Skating Discos skating around to Insomnia. Maxi Jaz was a top man!

We ended up paying crazy prices for what was essentially a Wordpress site with a few add-ons. The thing is though, We dont have time to be designing, doing the graphics, photos, etc so if you do have the time.... then do it yourself, but if you want a good site done well and you dont have time then leave it to the proffesionals.

Hi all, I've made sure that files in our GSuite workspace are restricted to only be sharable by people within the organisation however I am getting several Emails from other accounts requesting access to certain drive folders. Obviously they cant access anything as their email address cant be shared with as outside the organisation...However this request is going out to several different teachers too and I don't want them getting this. I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent outside users even attempting to ask for sharing access? From a bit of investigating it looks like they are children's parents gmail accounts that are trying to access the files. So probably the child using the parents computer and getting gmail accounts mixed up. I'd like to stop them even trying though. Are there any ways? Thankyou

Outside people's proxy settings
Sonic007 replied to Jawloms's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We have had this exact same situation with people coming in from the LA. They say they connect elswhere fine but I see they have a mandatory proxy set and cant do anything to change that. I now keep a spare laptop or two that I hand out for guest use when we have visitors as re-configuring their laptop is something I just don't have time to do. -
Hi, If I have 8GB DDR3 in one slot am I worth just keeping the 8 or will adding another 2GB to slot 2 slow things down? Both DDR3 modules are the same type, just different sizes. thanks.

Will probably take the kids to see this since they are all Nintendo fans now with the Switch console.

With all the issues, I've ended up manually adding the printer for the time being. PITA but got me sorted quicker in the end.

Google Drive files and folders randomly dissapear and re-appear
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in Cloud Services
Sounds like the Google rep you were talking to was trying to fob you off with half baked sollutions that in fact were not sollutions at all. It is still an issue and Google don't seem to care anbout fixing it at the moment it seems. -
We reboot the SQL server every month or so. Speeds things up.

As prime Minister I would do the following: - Re-Nationalise the railways - Create a proper detailed plan to ensure the UK is fully connected with electric trains. No half baked sollutions, new proper tracks laid, faster trains, and cleaner trains due to electric instead of diesal. The new enhanced electric railways would be funded by reducing MP salaries, higher taxes on offshore companies trading in the UK, increaed taxes on companies who are not meeting net zero carbon emissions, and a new tax on energy suppliers who would pay 10% of proffits to the government.

Thankyou for your reply jezi55. I will try that.

None of it worked. I've decided to just start adding the new printers manually for the time being. IS there something in the registry I can do locally to remove user sunwanted printers? I assume they wont come back as GPO no longer there on server.
-
Sorry, me again. This only works with admin users. Is there a way to ake it run for all users? Thankyou.

I've done all the fixes but printers are still only deploying to domain admins. Anyone have ay ideas? Thankyou

Deploying printers just doesnt want to work
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in Windows Server 2016
I am pulling my hair out! Not getting anywhere. I've done all the settings to make installation possible and the only ones who manage to get printers deployed are if they are set as Domain Admins. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Here is what I've done: 1. Installed Printers and drivers on Windows2016 server and they appear in Print Management. I right clicked on each one and added them to a GPO. This GPO is setup under Computer Configuration, Policies, Deployed Printers. 2. I've made sure Restrict driver install to admins is disabled in policy and also in Computer Configuration, Preferences, Registry. 3.I've made sure "Package point and print and Point" and "point and print restrictions" are done - Approved servers has got my print server. AD.location.co.uk Limit drive rinstallation to administrators is disabled. Where am I going wrong? Only admins can see it. -
It’s been a long day so I apologise if I’m doing this wrong. I’ve copied that into notepad and saved as Remove printers.vbs And then just double clicked that and it just throws an error at me. Should I be doing this another way? Thankyou.

Hi all, Could really do with some help if possible. Currently setup new printers as a computer based GPO. It will install fine for admin users but normal users are not picking up anything. The drivers are V3 and I dont have any V4 versions. I know Windows updates have messed things up but is there a guide somewhere or can someone show me how to get these printers picked up as normal users just don't see any of the new printers. I thought maybe I could login as an admin, pull down the prints and then they'd be there for the normal users but this doesnt work. Many thanks.

Thankyou for this. I'e just tried running it and it gives an error. Line2 Char1. Any ideas? Many thanks and I appreciate the help.

Im just testing things out at the moment. I have a feeling it is goingto be a long day! At first the printers were coming back, but I've deleted them from the GPO, and off the servers printer list itself. Going to test if that has worked. Wouldnt mind seeing your script if you have it as may need something if things fail to work. Thankyou.

Hi, If I want to remove my network printers that are deployed via user GPO do I just delete the GPO and then gpupdate on the client machines? Thanks.
