Getting a lot of WhatsApp messages along the lines of "Hi Jenny, This is Naomi. Please pick me up at 5pm from the train station". You then reply (or shouldn't, I just like to see where it goes!) saying wrong number and they say "you seem nice" and start chatting about random things whilst dropping hints that they are going shopping as they've made millions on whatever crypto bank is the latest trend. They then try to get you interested and into opening accounts, making deposits etc. I assume it will be a bot doing most of the messages.

Twitter website integration - Web company unreasonable?
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in Web Development
Good to know that we are not the only ones with this issue. I'm thinking of taking the Twitter integration down for the moment as we do have a twitter link in the top corner of the page anyway. I'm definately not paying £225. They are money grabbers. Just the other day they wanted another £225 for something I ended up figuring out and sorting myself in about 5 minutes. -
We had 3 websites created by a web development company and they included our Twitter feeds on the front page. Now, when I login to my Wordpress site and look at the main page I get this: I contacted them and they said they can "sort it out" for a maintenance fee of £225! To me this seems absurd! I'd rather wait. They chose to use this plugin when developing the site so surely it is their problem? What do you think?

Can anyone share their disaster recovery policy / plan... ?
Sonic007 replied to mikkydoos's topic in General Chat
Ours incudes the following: - The Key personnel to be made aware of the situation and what pre-made plans are to be put into action. Their names and job roles. - A plan overview. We also state that this policy should be looked at in conjuction with the Crisis Management and Business Continuity Policy. - Contact information for main suppliers, Broadband, Hardware suppliers, Phone Supplier, MIs supplier, etc. - Plan to ensure the continuation of service in extreme circumstances allowing staff and pupils to continue all works. We also include: A document named “IT Network Overview and Structure” can be found on XXXXX drive. This document includes: • Location of key network hardware • Server details and network configuration • Site plan showing location of key equipment • Scheduled and necessary maintenance schedules • Other information (which is added regularly) to explain how the network is setup and run. We then have an overview detailing what our current backup strategy is, what data is backed up, and what security is in place (software and physical security) for the servers and data. How often it is backed up and how long to restore. Then got a section on different types of recovery and how we deal witrh them, eg. Viruses, Theft, loss of IT personnel, loss of data, loss of hardware and how we would recover from these situations with expected timeframes. -
Whilst on my way to work this morning it looks like many people have yet to find indicators!

Does any one use or can recommend a site that lets people tip you? A little like buymeacoffee? Which is the best to use? I will be providing a free service to help people with fishkeeping and if people are happy they can then tip me. Thankyou.

Thankyou everyone. Will check those out.

Hi, We are needing a couple of Walkie Talkies. Our site covers Infants and Junior schools next to each other and the premises team need some ASAP. Buildings are quite old, solid brick walls, so something that transmits well. What do you recommend? Thanks all.

Interestingly, how many SSID's do you all have? At the moment I only have my main network, Guest, and IOT but thinking of ditching Guest and having Children instead. Guests can go on to the IOT one instead.

Thought I'd update this thread: Ended up going down the VLAN route. Picked up a ubiquiti Flex Switch Mini. Great little device. Have got it adopted into my Unifi controller running on a laptop. Once configured with VLANS on each port I don't need the controller running. VLANS configured on my Edge router. All is good. Eventually I will swap out the Edge router for a Dream Machine Pro.

The thing I have found is that you can end up in a an endless loop where you add and then remove and then add again the work / device profile. Sometimes it is straight forward, other times a real nightmare.

How to do silent install of Office 2019?
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in How do you do....it?
Thankyou everyone. Yes I've done the configuration tool and when I do a normal install I just go into my Office Setup Files folder, open up CMD, and type setup.exe /configure configuration.xml. The installer then opens up and goes ahead with the installation. I've just looked at the XML file and seen the Display level as Full so have changed that to None. Also made the mistake of not changing the source of the Office Setup Files folder as normally I copy it over to the C: drive. So I've edited that too and giving it a go now to see if it installs. Will report back. Thanks all. -
Hi all, At the moment whenever I need to install Office 2019 I need to run: setup.exe /configure configuration.xml I'm curently building an automated install in Windows Configuration Designer so it installs a selection of software after the Windows install. Does anyone know the parameters to silent install Office? Thankyou.
