Nice, so you have to put the voucher code in for individual each app purchase? -
[ipad] How do deal with payment info?
BassTech replied to BassTech's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Ah, vouchers is what I was thinking along the lines of, the only issue being, say, if an account got topped up with a £10 gift card, which was used to buy a £1 app, there would still be £9 on that account, so if a student was to get the password, they could then go and spend that on anything. -
We are getting 30 ipads soon, and a question has arose about keeping the school's card information safe - I know with the app store it saves the card info, so potentially if a student got the account password, they could go on a spending spree with the card. What's the best way to prevent this from happening? Apparently it isn't very easy to delete the card info after each transaction either, so any suggestions would be welcome

Perhaps your internet filtering is blocking the MS Clipart URL(s)? so when someone tries to access it, office thinks there is no connection as it's blocked.
-
I thought you had to pay for the full office suite, feel free to elaborate though! @caffrey - Pretty much what I am expecting here, a few whiners etc but ultimately it's the best thing to do for the school. I am concerned about the lack of control over it, so like you mentioned if bullying etc goes on then we can't really do anything . I'm in the same boat with 365, heard of a lot people having technical issues with it, which is why I'm more attracted to google's services at the moment. Plus I don't trust MS to not start charging for various things after they've roped you in. I also don't like the direction they're going with Windows 8/8.1 and am concerned 365 will end up in a similar mess.
-
I meant, if we go with Google we would go with all of their services - Mail, Drive, Calendar etc so most of our 'services' would be in one place.
-
Nice, they do have a good selection of videos on there so that will defiantly help us with regards to training. Drive looks very interesting, with 25gb space per user!
-
Ah ok, I'm willing to ditch outlook if that is the case! What about SSO - Do your users have to login to windows, then their mail separately? I can't see that going down well!
-
How did staff find it? Did they pick it up easily, did you provide any training? My main concern is the staff here don't take to change too well, especially ICT systems.. So I want to ensure it will go as smooth as possible!

As our Exchange 2007 server grows older, and our user drives are running out of space - I am thinking of migrating all users to Google Mail & Google Drive, but still using outlook as a front-end for email. I've been experimenting/dipping my toe in the water and it almost seems too good to be true - all the space, all the services, for free! Basically, are there any things that I should look out for? Is it really as easy as Google say it is to switch? If you've done it, how did the users react? Any features from Exchange that were noticeably missed? Is it better than Microsoft office 365? The thing I like with Google is that you get everything together - all your eggs in one basket if you will. Thanks Lee

I've been a "hardcore" fan for a while now, following the series over the last 10 years - SOCOM 2 was the last great one, they went rapidly down hill from there. David Sears was the director for 1 & 2 and left Zipper interactive because he didn't like the direction they were taking with SOCOM 3. Now David Sears and Russ Phillips (the guy who made the maps on 1 & 2) are back and bringing us H-Hour: World's Elite - It's the closest thing to a real SOCOM we're ever going to get, and I have faith in them. If you have a look around their site/forums there is a lot of optimism around the game and they seem to really be listening to the community

You tried with quotes? Robocopy "d:\userdata\year7" "\\s02\year7" /copyall /r:1 /w:1 /log:"c:\log.txt"
-
Is there enough space on S01 for the log.txt file? Try saving the log back to S02 (or USB drive etc) instead of the C:\ on S01? Long-shot but hey

H-Hour is a kickstarter-backed project to create the spiritual successor to SOCOM: H-Hour: World's Elite - SOFs Are any edugeekers on here old-time SOCOM players? I'm talking 10 years ago on SOCOM I then SOCOM II - back in the PS2 central station online days, where you actually had to fit an adapter yourself to play online! SOCOM was the defining online shooter that, IMO kicked off online shooters on consoles. SOCOM 1 & 2 were simply amazing online. I've put $150 into H-Hour, has anyone else backed this game or looking at buying it when it's released? I can't wait!
-
haha feel your pain.. my PSN is Leeoc91 if anyone wants to play online - I play FIFA online a lot as well but I know a lot of edugeekers are allergic to football

Sept 17th isn't it? EDIT: oops GTA Online.... lol MOAR COFFEE

Day 1 PS3 for me Also day 1 PC whenever they get round to releasing it....
-
I'm scared about what else he knows, this is just the tip of the iceberg It's a disgrace.
-
True, but it was them who set up all of the pranks for him. What I mean is Ricky and Steve forced him into awkward situations which is what made it so funny IMO. But I agree I think he'll still be funny on his own EDIT: I wonder if he will ever do a bungee jump??
-
Should be good, think he's hilarious! I don't think Ricky or Steve are involved this time round though. http://sky1.sky.com/karl-returns-to-sky-1-HD

The gameplay looks incredible and I can't believe all of the footage was taken from PS3 - It looks like a next-gen game! R* have done it again! I just hope a PC release is imminent, I love the modding community for GTA, plus the graphics will be EVEN BETTER! Bring on Sept 17th

What about a twitter feed? You could use it to show pictures of your photography, baking and dancing projects and maybe use it as a fund-raising page for the school?
-
Wow, that's simply brilliant - I think Zuckerberg should follow suit before it's too late! Used to use Bebo myself back in the day.
-
Got to the bottom of it, seems it is just spam as we get our licenses elsewhere!

Had an email today from [email protected]: I click on the link which takes me to symantecrenewals.com - It looks a bit fishy to me, I've just taken over from the NM this week so I'm not 100% when it expires but this site just looks dodgy? What does everyone think?
