    Wondered what peoples thoughts are on http://www.quotev.com. I've noticed this get more and more popular in the past few weeks with students. It looks partly-educational but what worries me are the facebook/twitter like social networking features. Thinking of blocking it here.

    Yeah, I was thinking more along those lines to be honest. I ended up putting the Google Update server URLs in our proxy bypass list today to test it. The entire site then proceeded to download the latest version of Chrome, bringing out internet to a standstill..Won't be trying that any time soon!

    We are an RM CC4 network with Chrome installed and configured in GPO. I was wondering what people do to roll out updates in Chrome? I have tried the auto update settings via GPO but the users get an install error as they haven't got permission to install software. They seem to update it so often, creating a new package for each version may become a bit of headache. Just wondered how other schools manage it?

    We're with RM, we find they get blacklisted a lot so Exchange goes mad from time-to-time with bounce-backs. We still have SmartCache 2, moving away very soon as it's out dated tosh.

    Got it working now Followed the guide here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/139452-app-inventor-2-without-compromising-security-i-think.html and had to make a few CC4-specific changes. All works nicely now (until they update it that is)

    Our proxy is blocking Google Chrome from auto-updating as it requires authentication. I want to bypass this so Chrome goes directly to Google's update servers. Does anyone know or have the url/address(s) that are used by Chrome to do this? I can then put this in our proxy bypass list which should do the trick.

    Thanks for the info guys, it kind of makes more sense now. Still begs the question why it has been left in all these Years!

    We have this in our main switch cab, and has all of a sudden starting 'clicking' very quickly and is quite noisy. I don't really know what it is, the previous NM didn't leave behind any notes on this or anything at all so I dare not touch it. It has a CAT 5 wire coming out of it, that doesn't plug into anything. At the back are 2 fiber optic cables and power. Does anyone know what it is? or if I'm safe to just unplug it? A quick Google of the model, manufacture etc brings up nothing

    Tried that, it doesn't support the version of Python that we are using (3.3.5) struggling to find one that does..

    Do they need anything more than IDLE to be able to teach this syllabus? I've told ours to use IDLE but they seem to want to use another 3rd part GUI for some unknown reason :/ EDIT: from teacher "they need to be able to create GUIs for the program they're writing, whereas Idle just lets them write code"

    As far as I know, the PS4 only supports a few select "Thrustmaster" wheels at the moment Think I'll be sim racing on my PC for a while yet.

    Same here, I tried the stick once and it's very hard without being able to feel the biting point on the clutch! I'd deffo be up for a racing club on Project Cars, sounds like a lot of fun! I should point out that the Logitech G25 or G27 are not compatible with PS4, for anyone thinking of hooking it up

    Logitech G27 is probably the best out at the moment, I can vouch for it, it's incredible! The older G25 is also great, which you may be able to get cheap second-hand.

    I'm stuck on "Launch the aiStarter program on your computer and try again" too. Works fine as admin accounts, just not students & staff. I'm currently troubleshooting, I've tried all suggestions here and what I can find online - still no good! RM CC4 btw

    Full on sim racer, GT style. Don't know if you played NFS: Shift 2 but it's made by the same studio (slightly mad studios). It promises to be the next big racing sim, you should check it out it looks amazing Released in Nov I beleive.

    They delayed the free PS+ edition to "Reduce the load on the servers" because they've had real issues at launch with the online parts of the game. Rumors are going around that they used this as an excuse to pull the free edition so people would grow impatient and just buy it at full whack. It is very arcade'y, it feels and plays like an alpha/beta build game to me. Looks like I will have to wait for Project Cars on PC and my G27 to enjoy some real racing! Wish I bought FIFA 15 instead now!

    I got driveclub, not impressed at all. It's fun I guess, just feels a little linear and bland, and the car sound sound effects are pretty poor IMO. I need to play it a bit more first but it just doesn't do it for me...roll on project cars! GTA V will be amazing on PS4 (although I may hold off for PC release) FIFA 15 is good fun, especially multiplayer. Destiny is good, just not enough content there (yet)

    Is there an alternative for MIT App Inventor? We can't get this working on our computers like many others, and our head of ICT is going to SLT moaning about this, which is a joke! Is there any other software that we could look at using that works on a network and isn't ludicrously difficult to get running?
