We had this exact problem, Apple replaced the iPad under warranty no questions asked Their support are quite good when it comes to broken idevices, just ashame about their horrible, horrible OS!

We are having this issue too - app inventor just says "Checking companion app is open" and just gets stuck in a loop doing this, even though it is already open on the emulator!

I've been asked to get some figures for updating our network. At the moment it's a bit of a mess - We are RM CC4.2 with physical servers on Windows Server 2003. We would be looking to upgrade to a Vanilla network with Windows Server 2012, with a SAN incorporated into this. We also want to go all-virtual using Hyper-V of similar. We would require a company to use professional Microsoft-qualified engineers to complete this migration for us, including all set-up costs, labour costs, data migration and configuration of our backups (We have a D2D2T system). Does anyone know of any companies that could provide this kind of service to us? Thanks

One of our Students has broken a laptop whilst using it at home. Their parents have agreed to pay for this but they want to see an "official" quotation first. The problem is that they have snapped the charging port off the MOBO, so this would require an entirely new part. The case is also damaged and would need to be replaced too. I can only find places that quote for labour, but cannot get a price for the parts as it's an oldish laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro A210). I'm worried that if we get it repaired it's going to cost more than the laptop's worth, and the parent's will refuse to pay. Does anyone know where I'd be able to get a labour + parts quote BEFORE we get it fixed, so I can pass this onto the parents? Thanks!

We have x15 copies of Finale Print Music 2014, all installed on new computers, with new keyboards (Yamaha YPT-220s) and new MIDI-USB adapters. On x5 of these computers, we can't get Print Music to output through the MIDI keyboard speakers, nothing comes through them at all. The other x10 are fine. We know the issue is not with the computers, keyboards or MIDI-USB adapters as we have tested these separately and confirm they are all in working order, so that just leaves Print Music 2014. All of the settings on these are the same! The MIDI INPUT on these works fine, we can input music into the computers, it's just the MIDI OUTPUT that isn't working correctly with Print Music 2014. I've tried re-installing the software and clearing all the cached settings files, but still nothing. This is a very, very odd issue! My next port of call is to re-build an affected computer, but I'd rather not go down that route

I am looking into ordering a 4:3 monitor for a classroom. The whiteboard is 4:3 and the existing monitor is 16:9, which is causing the picture to be stretched. I am struggling to find a 4:3 monitor, and can only seem to find 5:4 ones. Would a 5:4 monitor work ok with a 4:3 board? Are they the same? I was thinking along the same lines, but the idea was to give one to each head of dept initially for testing purposes. I suppose we could do this with 10 or so of the iPads, and then after a month or so re-manage them and use an old iPad we have as our unrestricted test iPad.

We have 32 iPads, manged by apple configurator + meraki. We are at the point of starting to roll them out to teachers now, but we're not sure of the best way to approach this. We would ideally like the teachers to test apps, and if they like it ask us to push it to all iPads. The problem is, the iPads are all linked to one iTunes account which uses the schools email address, so to allow them to install apps to test would mean giving them the iTunes password, which we can't do. What is the best way of allowing teachers to install and test out apps?

I did this on my old S3 4.4.2 android cyanogen mod and it breathed new life into my ageing phone. I would recommend you do it and don't look back

It's ridiculous, they place sweets/chocolate/toys elsewhere in the shop anyway exactly at a child's height so they spot it straight away.

We allow it to all staff and students, have done this for years with no problems. But our students are generally very well behaved, I wouldn't do it in a comprehensive school!

It's such a shame! nearly everything was split-screen back in the day. Me and my friends often struggle to find a good offline multiplier game to play - usually end up playing a team ladder on Mortal Kombat 9 (PC). Mario Party used to be one of my personal faves. Sunk some hours into that. Also, golden-eye, obviously

True, having said that I originally bought BF4 for PC and I was shocked how childish they were online. They were calling people who performed badly names, swearing, kicking/banning people if they weren't winning the game. Very hostile towards new players, a lot of PC elitists running their mouth about how they have the best specs etc, etc.. Not to mention the cheats/aimbots. I returned it on PC (kept crashing) and got it on PS4, and the online experience is so much better. Friendly people, play in a team, much more fun IMO.

You're right, I forgot homophobic 12 year olds were exclusive to consoles.

Imagine what a success Mario Kart 8 would be on PS4/X1. What if it was cross-platform multi-player!? They would be on to a winner. I find Nintendo quite stubborn these days, and it will be their downfall. They could even release all of the classic N64/Gamecube games on iOS/Android and they would dominate the app charts.

Thing is, the users can't get there docs at all. If I give them the "Printer Credits Management" permissions in the RM Management Console, then they can get their docs and this error disappears.
