I think it is Google Earth, as it keeps saying a new update is available. Just realised that you can download Google Earth without the updater built in so will make a new package with that version and replace the old one, see if that works..

We are on an RM CC4 network. Recently we have noticed that our workstations are making a lot of requests to: google.co.uk t2.gstatic.com t1.gstatic.com t3.gstatic.com t0.gstatic.com google-analytics.com google.comkh.google.com ssl.gstatic.com clients5.google.com pagead2.googlesyndication.com clients1.google.com All of this is making up for around 30% of outbound traffic from our site, RM is our ISP and have said that this amount of traffic is unusual. We have scanned our workstations and servers thourghly for viruses but they're fine, which leads me to beleive that one of Google's software packages we have installed is causing it. We have Google Earth and Google Sketch-Up on all workstations but the stange thing is even when no-one is logged onto the workstation these requests to Google are being made in the background, and after uninstalling all Google software from a test workstation the problem remains where it's constantly making requests to google :S All Windows 7 Professional workstations.

Can anyone recommend some good, free formatting software? My memory card is corrupt and Windows 7 format isn't playing ball. I am looking for something that will do a FULL format as in bit-by-bit by writing and erasing 0s and 1s.

Thing is for phones, I don't think a touch screen is very good for serious gamers. It's good for a casual blast on angry birds etc but for me an old-school controller wins every time, the PSP Vita looks interesting but the games are way overpriced IMO, as with everything sony make...

Very good point, there's only so much us techies can do whether it's an expensive VLE like frog or a free solution like moodle, sadly it all comes down to who is going to push it from SLT and get the teachers using it to its full potential. Not to mention we have just put in 'Channel 4 Clipbank' which is similar to a VLE but we fear is going to drive interest away from frog.

We did look at moodle but it looks like it requires a lot of time to be invested in it from a techie, I agree though SCORM is very useful although 90% of the software departments buy aren't SCORM

You're right but here at least teachers just use it to dump files on. God knows we've tried to use it as a learning tool - using it to set homework, lessons etc but it always just ends up as a very expensive place to store files and little else. We use frog by the way, I just think sometimes using dropbox or similar would suit better...

Seems like VLEs are only there because the government told us that we had to have them, question is do we really need them? Especially now everything's going cloud based???

I do HIT 5 times a week in the GYM, 30 minutes of the cross trainer at about 9mph average speed - feel a lot fitter and lost 9lbs since January

We took out most network printers and now have a print room with 4 printers in (2 colour, 2 black). We find the Students/Staff only print what they really need to now as they have to WALK to the print room which is the other side of School. We have a rotor system where Staff have an hour each in there to sort the prints and put them in form trays (all work must have the student's name and form on or it's recycled)

Not too keen on low carb diets, prefer the traditional eat less and better food, excersice more. It's hard but worth it when you look in the mirror after a couple of months

My FAIL of the week: Phone rings... Staff: Toner has gone, can we have a new one please? Me: Sure, I'll bring one over. I get there with a brand new Samsung toner, after a good 5 minutes of trying to get it to fit I realise that our supplier must of sent me the wrong toner. Me: They've sent us the wrong toner, we should have another, be back in 5 mins. I go back with yet another new Samsung toner, only to find that this one does not fit either, I'm thinking WTF is wrong?? Me: This one won't fit either, I'll get onto our supplier to see what's happened. After an hour back in the office I realised that they have a HP printer, not a Samsung. Even though it was right infront of me I couldn't work out what was going on, and both toners are completley different in size...

Wow! Imagine living in one of the houses at 6:36! Very skilled pilot here, insane that they're even allowed to attempt such a landing in a plane of this size and weight, one slight mistake and you're in trouble!
