Yes, they are important but it looks like most people here think experience is more valuable. And I've never managed anyone or a budget but it can't be that hard, everyone has to start somewhere!
-
It's not a lot, but I started here at 17 so when I will be looking for other jobs in 1-2 years I will have 6-7 years experience and still only be 23 Not sure about the salary, it'd have to be a nice bit more than I pick up now, because I do love working here - just not on enough money!

Hey all, I've been working for 70-680 for around 2 Years, now, this is an easy(ish) exam but various family and personal problems keep me from completing it, so each time I start it up again I've forgot most of what I learnt... and now they're expiring this on 30th July this Year so there's not much point now, with server 2012 and windows 8 out now as well. But yeah experience seems to be the key, as I have gained a nice 4 years and I'm still only 21 Do you think based on my experince I could go for a, say, Assistant Network Manager type role as that's the level I want to step up to?

I'm thinking of moving on in the next Year or two from being a ICT technician here to something higher-up in another school or private sector. I am 21 years old and currently earn £13,700 pa gross. I want to move because I simply want to move out of home, and my current wage would not cover this, and there are no oppertiunites here for a promotion. I am looking for around £23,000-£28,000 pa gross. The only problem is I have 0 ICT qualifications, although I do have 4 years (nearly 5) experience, and I am very competent with networking, windows server, virtulization, backup soloutions, mis systems, web site building, graphic designing, advance software troubleshooting and various other things... I'm really not sure if I should just go for another job based on my experience (and very good references) or if I should get some qualifications under my belt first, but I wouldn't know where to start! What are your opinions?

We are currently on RM CC4.2 with mostly new workstations and Windows 7. We are looking at moving away from RM to a virtual vanilla solution around summer 2014, and could do with a little help in planning: What are the first things to do/set up? Are there any free altarnatives to the RMMC that write back to AD? Does anyone know of any companies that specialise in moving from RM to vanilla? Does anyone know a good vanilla support company, who have similar support to RM such as online-ticketing, the option of a remote session? Can you migrate packages from CC4 to vanilla? ...has anyone got any general advice/tips for us? I'm just trying to get a general feel of how difficult it will be for us! Many thanks

Hi All, All I'm trying to do is give "Everyone" Full Control of %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook by using a .vbs script but am having REAL difficulty... This is what I have: Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") userProfilePath = objShell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%USERPROFILE%") strHomeFolder = "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook" Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") If objFSO.FolderExists(strHomeFolder) Then ' Assign user permission to home folder. intRunError = objShell.Run("%COMSPEC% /c Echo Y| cacls " _ & strHomeFolder & " /e /c /g Everyone:F ", 2, True) If intRunError <> 0 Then Wscript.Echo "Error assigning permissions for user " _ & strUser & " to home folder " & strHomeFolder End If End If WScript.Quit Any ideas??

I'm trying to distribute a .reg file to all users which changes the temp folder of outlook 2007. This is what I have got: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security] "OutlookSecureTempFolder"="N:\My Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Temp" I am then applying this to the computer policy but it doesn't seem to be working (the temp path is still the default). Am I doing anything wrong here??? We are RM CC4/Win7

A few colleagues at work have helped me out recently buying a new car, so I want to get them a little something to say thanks One likes (proper) Whisky, the other Vodka - Can anyone recommend some nice brands, something a bit classier than your usual smirnoff/jack's but not too expensive, and where I can get it? Many thanks

I wouldn't be surprised if they added wager matches to some sort of DLC pack in the future... I had a blast on MP last night on PS3, had a lot of fun, much better than MW3. The whole game feels really polished to me, didn't experience any lag at all and the matchmaking system works fast. I only played team death match last night but I found myself wanting to go back for more, I couldn't put the controller down! The weapons are nice and balanced with most of the annoying perks changed/removed which is a welcome improvement. All in all I'd give it an 8/10 based on my short time online, taken 1 off for the graphics (c'mon how old is this engine now??) and another for not having wager matches like the original black ops. Add me on PS3: Leeoc91 if you fancy a game

True that, there are SO many good mods for GTA IV as well, there's countless hours of replay-value! However I wouldn't buy the steam edition if I was modding, but £5 is a true bargain for most people
-
I think it was more a driver issue (Win 7 x64) as the old drivers ran it OK but then hardly any new games would run nicely such as DiRT, Skyrim, BF3 e.t.c... so it was either play GTA IV on the old drivers and nothing else, or not GTA IV at all, but all the new games work luckily I have it on PS3 too, but I wanted to mod it and make a video, but couldn't because of the drivers! I'll think twice before using a nvidia card again, but to be fair I think it's more to do with poor optimisation by Rockstar than nvidias drivers.
