Cloud migration from on-prem storage to SharePoint & OneDrive
russlp replied to kennysarmy's topic in Cloud Services
We've moved all our staff & Student home drives, just the shared areas to go! -
We're being told we have to keep FMS at the same full cost we're paying now for SIMS - as our LA doesn't accept Bromcom or Arbor finance - doesn't quite seem fair!
-
We are having a terrible time, upgraded us to V9 in the summer, left us centralised to somewhere else (we didn't even know about) and haven't moved us off yet so we can't import any new students etc. Very stressful and no help at all from Civica. Even engineer that visited doesn't know what to do or how it's ended up in such a mess. Happy to take the money though...

The LogonExclusions key got deleted when installing the new version here so might be worth backing it up first if you're using it! -

On Leeds 65 here, search terms also blank! -
I can highly recommend Ian McDonald @ Mercury AV Ltd - https://www.mercury-av.com/ Really helpful and competitive pricing.

PaperCut Mobility print will do that - and it's free! You'd maybe have to use a always on desktop to share them perhaps if no server? https://www.papercut.com/products/free-software/mobility-print/

Anybody else being asked to "sign in" on Google.com home page
russlp replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
Yeah, I think you can turn off the voice search bit which is what it needs the consent for. -
Anybody else being asked to "sign in" on Google.com home page
russlp replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
We had this - to solve it we turned on Search and Assist in the admin console (Apps > Additional Google Services > Search and Assist) and the button went away and waffle went back to normal. -
I've taken both settings out the registry and it's not started prompting me so that's really weird. The current user one definitely removed the SharePoint / Office 365 server options from the file menu for me though. The only other thing I did do was disable 'require checkout' on the settings for the SharePoint site - might be a combination of the 2 things that stops it perhaps. I had this recently and couldn't get it to work as a local machine setting. Worked for local user though: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown\cSharePoint bDisableSharePointFeatures dword:00000001

It works pretty well for us, people love rota reminders etc and you get a lot of functionality for the money. You don't need to make everyone use mychurchsuite, so if you have older more reluctant people someone can just enter their details and they can still receive emails if that's all they want to do. It's probably worth having some training but it's pretty simple to get going. We had a couple of mornings where some people were on hand to help the less technical members register and install the app if they wanted. Feel free to PM if there's anything in particular you want to check.

We had this a few years ago. I think you need to turn on "Enable the creation of roaming copies for Google Chrome profile data" in Group Policy for Chrome (and Edge Chromium) and also set the "Set the roaming profile directory" value - it was a while ago so apologies if that's not correct but I think that's what solved it for us!

The registry bit in this thread does the trick for us: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/office-software/218099-office-2019-your-privacy-option-popup.html

I think it's just the communications log - so messages and messages marked as attendance.

Would love to go watch a launch one day!
