  1. that is a terrible UI design I didn't know you could search it
  2. Not sure of a way to recover if its been removed from the recycle bin , any chance of getting it back from a computer they synced with OneDrive at some point
  3. I'd check the web filter logs , if its highlighted in Red but says 200 than probably HTTPS interception causing a problem, checked ours and we have the above guide and it excluded from interception. Also double check the policy order in the Guardian
  4. Ours used to work with device licensing for about 30 days but I tried it just now while offline and although it says it is licenced it won't let me open or save local files. Microsoft PowerPoint Sorry, PowerPoint can't read C:\test\test.ppt Works if I open PowerPoint first and then go offline , used to use this for exams so will be interested if there is a solution
  5. as you said they should get the settings you've assigned once they see internet and it changes to "Pushed" in Meraki Edit: forgot to add we had to agree to updated Terms today
  6. Thanks all, have backed up all the configs and managed to automate it except for a few where they've nerfed SSH like the Aruba Instant On. https://blog.feldmann.io/powershell/backup-hp-procurve-switches-via-ssh-tftp-and-powershell/
  7. Should have said this will only be about 90 minutes, or they say 45 minutes and I'd always double it to be safe, so don't think they would stretch to a proper backup generator
  8. Any advice or best practice for HP/Aruba Network switches or is there any way to shut them down gracefully as I can't find it, might be my bad luck but any switches that have died always seem to be after a power cut The individual switches don't have UPS and the power cut is going to last longer than the Core switch UPS predicts it can handle, so need to shut down that as well. So far have thought of write memory in case something hasn't been saved then backup config to an offline drive and USB in case they corrupt reboot them prior to shutdown? not sure why but seems a good idea pull the power plugs out in case the power comes back intermittently
  9. Does it show anything on the real time Reports, Realtime, Webfilter IPaddress:441/modules/guardian3/cgi-bin/reports/guardian_logviewer.cgi?realtime=1 It has an export log function for the various logs or just browsing them looking for something that stands out might help, not sure how it gets wiped on a reboot, ours says a month but might be something in memory Reports, Logs, System etc IPaddress:441/cgi-bin/log/system.dat Edit: When they can't reach the internet do they get a block page or just timeout, I'd check if the computer can ping the Firewall IP and what it thinks the ARP address of the firewall interface is , could be something else on the same IP intermittently?
  10. We had a raid from catering recently, took all the mugs and glasses they "own" from the staffroom and are searching the school. Still got one in my desk draw they haven't found yet
  11. Is Ver: 1697453761 the latest one
  12. Yes getting the same thing
  13. For the PDF reader, will there be an option to select text in the PDF to read it or start reading from that point? and are the voices restricted to Microsoft Hazel
  14. I'd log it with Smart and follow their advice, they've been pretty good at replacing stuff for us once you reach the end of their troubleshooting.
  15. could you add them to groups in Azure/Entra and then assign licences based on their group membership, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/enterprise-users/licensing-groups-assign
  16. I like the idea of improving things so it's easy to understand and photos of important areas, instead of making a very detailed diagram of everything which was my first thought. We've done the different patch lead colours in one cab and it makes things much easier at a glance, keeping it up is hard though.
  17. you can only set OWA afaik and it ignores values over 10 seconds Set-MailboxMessageConfiguration mailbox -MailSendUndoInterval 10
  18. yes they are paired at the factory and no replacements
  19. Used to be the Kensington Wireless ones but they added a sliding black on black on/off switch where the thumb naturally rests and people can move it Moved the receiver storage position to behind the battery case instead of a spring loaded hole on the base If you can get the old ones they are very reliable, last about 5 months on battery with the receiver out of the base, indefinitely with it in the base and no on/off function.
  20. BYOD I think is moving towards relaxing restrictions and increasing guidance on how to stay safe , Pinterest for example has the risk of adult content but they are using it at home for school work.
  21. Think their website is down
  22. The JCQ Exam guidelines are quite useful for adapting to normal usage https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/malpractice/artificial-intelligence/ Had some good luck too but it loves to make up PowerShell commands "Fix-Wifi" was one, I think it must have gotten from someone else's script and inserted into its output
  23. Seems to be working now, had quite a few users with the issue Edit: not just us it seems
  24. Anyone else getting this, "error downloading the file content" or could not load the image Can still save them to OneDrive in some cases, feels more like a bandwidth issue than a code error
  25. On older devices that redirect modern browsers to an error page , add the root URL of the device to 'Internet Explorer mode' in Edge before browsing to it, otherwise it will add the only the Error page URL to Internet Explorer mode if you add the site at that point in the process, and you keep getting redirected.
