  1. So our school currently on mass makes use of the SMART 6000s white boards in almost all of our classrooms. For over a year now, we've had repeated cases of the white boards having an issue, where they become almost completely unresponsive. The board's power light will be glowing orange to indicate it has power, but any attempts to actually boot it fall flat. Sometimes simply holding down the power button to reboot it will work, other times before doing that, we've found we need to turn it off along with the sound bar at the socket, and then turning only the board back on, before then rebooting it. Worse cases have even these methods fail, and the board becomes completely unresponsive, requiring a replacement entirely from SMART. Is this an issue that any other school has had? we've tried everything, replacing power leads, factory resetting the board, using the remote, and nothing works other than the above methods, which often can feel like just delaying the problem.
  2. Hi Our 6000S Smart boards have frequently had a strange development in the last month or so. In the mornings, a board would show that it was getting some form of power, namely from the power button displaying a single orange light, however, no amount of pressing the actual button would cause the board to become active (symbolized by the boards power button turning a bright white along with its pause button and volume buttons) Initially, no amount of reboot attempts from holding the button would get it to start functioning, as it would only briefly cause the power button to blink from off to on but remain orange. We found at first that keeping the board powered off at the plug for long periods of time would help it to start functioning normally, but then later we found that when you power cycled it while keeping any other equipment on the same power socket such as speakers off while turning the board back on, would cause it to function properly. So the current theory my department has, is that the board's aren't getting enough power upon boot up to work correctly? but there's no explanation as to why this would start happening now when as far as we know our school has had no major sort of change to the buildings power supply, so is this an issue with the model of smart board? and has anyone else had this problem?
