BYOD Windows S Mode and Papercut Executable
robintech replied to robintech's topic in How do you do....it?
Surprised they don't have a microsoft store app now I think about it Yes mobility print -
Wondering what people do for BYOD Windows S Mode devices and the Papercut client software which can't be installed, so far am getting them to use Webprint and upload the file which is a bit more work especially for first years using the office web apps. Don't really want to take them out of S mode for a BYOD device as it provides some good protections (or I think it does never tested it fully)

Got a problem with Teams Class notebook not adding a particular student, I can remove and readd them to the Team and it doesn't create their section in the Class notebook, they appear as a member, trying to add them manually says they are already a member They can open the notebook but have no section to contribute in Doing the same with a test account it does create the individual section as normal although it doesn't delete it when I remove the test account, had to do that manually

If the key is linked to her online microsoft account she should be able to check the two accounts on https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey and see a likely looking device then message you the Recovery Key. If it isn't then I'd put it back in the old laptop and use an external display if needed, log in with her pin/password then backup the recovery key or disable bitlocker and move the drive, enable it The broken laptop hard drive is looking for the TPM chip on the old laptop so won't be related to the new one

SchoolCloud /Roombooking have an outage in case this helps anyone
robintech replied to robintech's topic in Cloud Services
Down for us as well, managed to get in as admin once but took 40-50 seconds to load -
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/active-directory/authentication/how-to-mfa-registration-campaign Without judgement what are people doing with this?, I've set it the nudge/enforce to disabled until I can filter who is using Voice/SMS and make them aware of the changes and see if they can use tokens or another method if they don't have a work phone and don't want to install an App. Especially on a Friday

Creating Admin logins for individuals is our workaround for roombooking, have to use the schoolname.roombookingsystem.co.uk/adminlogin page -

Does anyone still come in early for results downlaod?
robintech replied to Rob_D's topic in How do you do....it?
7AM still, had a nice email from the ISP the night before saying they were performing emergency works with a predicted maximum 60 minute downtime over a six hour window so didn't want to risk it even with failover internet having been tested recently. -
https://www.hostinger.co.uk/ have worked well for me, normal £40 a year type deal. Hate coding and the website builder is good and also comes with the cheapest package which some others restrict to higher tiers, I think from memory that email is restricted to one forwarding only which is what I do, or they do normal email email etc but then you have to guide the user to adding another email account to their phone, computer etc. Whatever you go with would check you can move it easily after a year or so as they all double or triple in price at that point.

If there's a way of contacting the computers remotely then psexec might work with local admin details assuming the password is the same and they don't have the ports blocked. If not i'd probably give them the local admin and have them run a script to join Azure or install some kind of remote management software then change all the local admins , use LAPS etc, couldn't get much worse Some antivirus management tools can install software remotely as well.
