Our client is a Leading Independent School. They are seeking an IT Engineer to work within their IT Department, to assist with helpdesk and on-site support services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with IT support experience, particularly within an educational environment and someone who relishes new challenges. Your main responsibilities will include: • To provide onsite 1st line technical support for the school’s ICT systems • Remote support with ticket queries, providing timely and effective resolutions to minimise down time • Managing, monitoring and prioritising tickets via the Helpdesk System and updating clients on resolution progress • Conducting diagnostics over the phone over the phone, via email communication and via desk-side visits • Building up strong relationships with third party software and service providers in order to understand complex issues • Communicating technical information to your client’s IT departments and keeping an accurate log of IT records • Performing software and equipment audits and maintaining equipment allocation and software licensing records • Managing backups and security software for clients The ideal candidate will conduct themselves in a professional manner and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal person specification: • A proven track record in managing customer relationships and providing excellent customer service in a customer delivery environment • A strong understanding of all Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications • The ability to install ICT equipment including, but not limited to; desktops, laptops, A/V equipment, printers, projectors, apple products and also provide diagnostic support • Someone able to prioritise workloads and correctly categorise I.T issues according to customer expectations and agreed SLA’s • A self-starter, with the ability work alone on-site with clients and as part of a team • Able to demonstrate a high level of organisation, to ensure client tickets are responded to as efficiently as possible • An individual that is both flexible and reliable in terms of working hours • 1st line support experience Windows Server 2003 - 2012 experience is essential and previous experience working as a school technician would be advantageous. Candidates also possessing IT certifications relevant to the role will be of interest. As a new member of the team, you will be working within a dedicated IT services team on-site, delivering a first class support service to staff and pupils.
