This a load of tosh the third party is Updata(Capita), so not really a third party. Easy one for them to peddle it's not our charge blah blah, heard it before with SAP charges, its SCC etc. Again schools we work with were not charged.

If this is Entrust within Staffordshire, they can't charge you for firewall changes as we have done loads of schools and they did not charge(original sales pitch was no more charges for firewall or port changes). They won't do it correctly though and then try to charge for you to check if they have opened the correct ports etc. They also said their broadband is not capable of using any VOIP system apart from their own Capita one. Most schools have either added another line for voip or terminated the current connection due to poor service.

CPOMS.

Yep it's an issue with Draytek routers. Update the firmware asap.

NSOptimum must be the worse company out there for sales...avoid.

Spot almost exactly how we look at it.

65" is not great it all depends on what is being displayed.

Dell best pricing on any spec...i3 7th gen, 4gb, 128gb ssd, win 10 pro and 3 year warranty under £350 ex vat.

Seems the best primary MIS software at the moment, always teething issues during migration.

We had an issue with NIC's on Hyper-V Broadcoms I believe, driver issues.

Does anything speed up build times on CC4?

They have good pricing on the HP 250 and 255's at the moment however the 3 cell battery is horrific. If that's not an issue they are decent.

Dell latitude 3490 14", i5, 8gb, 128gb ssd with 3 year warranty £490 ex vat at the moment...sorry just read you want including VAT. Dell Vostros may just come in at that price.

Really not liking anyone who tells the end user they will last 30,000 hours, pure sales talk that. There are plenty of alternative screens, all depends on if you are happy to use different software from Activ Inspire.

If you have the budget them it's worth it. We have installed plenty of Promethean Panels in Staffordshire. 65" should come in around £2250 fully installed with face plates and cabling. 70" around £2500 fully installed. Have you had the chance to see them in another school? Also depends on the size of your class rooms.

This is what we a re currently doing, about 3 to do over half term, CC4 to brand new vanilla networks, all Windows 10 and Server 2016. I have always done it the same way as suggested here.

Wow these prices are crazy, unless you want to connect into your MIS, mainly high schools, then iPad and VPass is ideal on an iPad

Another 1+ for VPass...it's web based so you can access everything from any device.

This seems like the best solution these days, saves loads of cash. I like Veeam but Altaro is just as good and cheaper. £350 per host with unlimited VM's per host. takes 15 minutes to setup.

Agree you could do this setup way cheaper, no need for a SAN either. Saying that in Staffordshire we have a couple of companies who have charged 50K plus for primary school servers over 5 years!

Miss these ones January 2017 - £289 each with 3 year warranty. Can't get them prices in 2018!

Brand new Dell Vostro - i3 7th Gen, 4gb, 128gb ssd, with 10 pro and 3 year warranty are around £370 ex VAT at the moment...

Sophos UTM pricing is based on the number of devices used in school.

Best way is to use RSAT from a Windows 8/10 computer. Have you added in the latest ADM Templates, I think this allows you to change settings but not proxy.

I have a log of all outages since 2016!
