Well, my Oculus Quest arrived yesterday afternoon and I think it's amazing. A shout-out to Y*del who, despite me changing the delivery address to a friend's house because it required a signature for delivery, they ignored that entirely and delivered it to my flat by throwing it over the back fence without a signature... Luckily, there was no damage! I used it for a few hours straight last night, and whilst it took a little wrangling to get the headset in focus for me, I didn't find it all that uncomfortable. The display is noticeably better than the old Rift DK2 and Vive I tried a few years ago, which is much appreciated. Also, Vader Immortal is just the best thing! The replayability may only be the lightsaber training mode, but with 70 levels, it's going to last me a while. I had so much fun with it yesterday!

Yeah, I've seen one review say that it's front heavy and could do with something to counterbalance it. I'll see how it feels once it arrives, my order is now processing for dispatch, and the money has left my account... I ordered the 64GB model, as I heard that it should be plenty for most owners. Also, the extra £100 for the 128GB was a little too steep for my taste!

Yeah, I've played it with a few friends, just without VR. We've yet to try the latest TNG update though.

I'll certainly report back when I get it, although I'm not entirely sure when that will be. The only information I have is "Dispatches by July 17"!

Resurrecting an old thread here, but last night, I discovered the new Oculus Quest, which is "all-in-one" VR headset - Runs its own games, doesn't require a heavy duty PC to connect to, and is completely cable-free (it has a battery life of 2-3 hours, apparently). One of the launch titles for it is Vader Immortal, and it looks exactly like what you'd want from a VR Star Wars game. After watching some gameplay, I may have kinda accidentally on purpose placed an order... Whilst it runs its own OS, with a 3rd party app, it seems you can connect it to your PC too. I'm looking forward to giving Elite: Dangerous and Star Trek: Bridge Crew (among other things) a go with this!

Yeah, Steam and Microsoft Store. It's good they've given the option!

Yeah, MCC will be on PC starting with Halo: Reach. They'll be releasing the others one by one after that. I can't wait!

Xbox had a very good showing this year. The Outer Worlds, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Cyberpunk 2077, Halo Infinite (even if it is a year and a half away...) and a new Flight Simulator top my list, and they showed off a few cool looking indie games too. I didn't stay up to watch the Bethesda conference, but Doom: Eternal and Wolfenstein Youngblood are two I'm really looking forward to. They revealed a few new IPs as well, which look intriguing.

Saw this being talked about on Twitter, very clever! Also, it's a reference to that , the dance moves Pikachu is throwing are almost exactly imitating the sketch.

I got an email from Nvidia this morning revealing their latest product, R.O.N., a holographic AI personal assistant.

+1 for Elgato. I used their earliest model (the Elgato Game Capture HD) and it was great. The software was really nice and simple back then, although I know they've added loads of features since. Mind you, that AverMedia is nice because of the recording to SD card, rather than directly to a PC like the Elgato. I used to use my laptop as the recording device so that my PC was not playing and recording at the same time. The SD card eliminates that problem.

Before Mass Effect Andromeda released (2 years ago now ), I started a playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy starting from the first game. I made it to about halfway through ME2 before Andromeda hit, and I abandoned my run after that. On Friday, I decided to continue where I left off. I'm on ME3 now, making very slow progress in the main quest but whipping through all the side quests and DLC I can find. It's been all I can think about since! I don't appear to remember an awful lot about ME3 (especially some of the single player DLCs) so it's been really enjoyable so far. Last time I played ME3 was before they made changes to the ending.

I think I'm most excited to play Firefight again, this time with a solid framerate... The first Halo is pretty tough to play from a mechanical standpoint nowadays. I recently went through and played all the campaigns again, and Halo CE was by far the most difficult to get through. Reality is nostalgia's worst nightmare!

Finally, Halo's Master Chief Collection has been announced for PC, and will start with Halo: Reach, which is new to the collection. Beyond excited, even though I have it on my Xbox! My mates never bought an Xbox One, so when we've wanted to play Halo, I've had to put up with the original versions... But this will change everything!

I don't follow Formula E, but I do enjoy motorsports and I saw this on Twitter. It looks really cool! I might look into how to watch it at some point.

I'm already there, I've just not been particularly chatty for a little bit! If I'm at a loose end, squad wise, I'll pop in.

The Division 2 is Ubisoft, so Uplay! EDIT: I've been playing Apex as well, and I've found that I must be unlucky. My mates and I have played for 2 nights, and whilst I'm playing, no wins. They carry on after I go to bed and they win games. To be fair, I struggle even to get kills! I was just starting to get good at PUBG, and then Apex releases...

We've had ours increased to 7 days as well, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

The users are authenticated through an Active Directory security group.

We've had Netsweeper at our primary school for a while now, and we moved to a transparent proxy a couple of months ago. Since then, we've been having an issue where staff sometimes gets pupil level filtering. After a very long back and forth with Schools Broadband support, we've been told that the filter will reset to pupil level filtering if a member of staff is logged in to more than one device at a time, which is a fairly ridiculous restriction in a school environment. Has anyone else had a similar issue with Netsweeper?

@fiza followed the instructions in the 2nd link - Uninstalling KB971033 and running the command as stated, and this worked on one of our affected PCs. We'll start doing the same for the others now. Thanks for all your help!

Some of these were very difficult, I don't think I'd ever work them out! I printed a copy out and shared it around our little office, and we had good fun trying to solve them. Thanks @DaveP, and happy Christmas!

I played the new PUBG map last night, and I think this one's my favourite so far. Much more variation in towns, more houses and small villages dotted around, and it's snowy! We almost won on our 2nd game, and we hardly ever win. The G36C is pretty nice, too. I had 5 or 6 kills over a couple of games, and most were with the G36C.

I've never been overly keen on darker ales, so I'm most definitely an IPA kind of beer person. Brewdog make a couple of my favourites (Punk IPA, Elvis Juice), although I'm just as happy with a London Pride, Speckled Hen, Pedigree or some Badger beer. My dad and I picked up a Badger selection box for our Christmas drinks. I quite like Belgian and German beers too, the popular choices of which are usually on the light side. I find IPAs and lighter real ales more refreshing. I like the fruity and citrus flavours that are often in IPAs. Darker beers have that heavier, malty or biscuity flavour that I'm not a fan of.

Oh jeez, that was unfortunate timing then! I think I'll be kitting out a Diamondback Explorer tonight and heading to Maia. I'm a little strapped for credits at the moment because I bought a Krait Phantom, before deciding against it and buying back my Alliance Challenger, leaving me about 30M Cr out of pocket... I'm a combat pilot, so it takes me a while to accrue those credits!
